Material Handler / Crane Equipment Operator
Location: Richmond, VA
Schedule: First Shift (Monday–Thursday, starting at 6:00 AM; 8–10-hour shifts with approximately one Saturday per month)
Starting Pay: From $22.00/hour, with higher pay available based on experience.
Position Overview
We're looking for a dependable Material Handler with experience operating industrial lifting and material-moving equipment. In this hands-on role, you'll assist with moving steel products throughout the yard, loading and unloading deliveries, and supporting daily operations while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety. Training is available for motivated candidates who are eager to learn.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate overhead cranes to lift and relocate steel materials.
- Use Pettibone equipment to transport products throughout the yard.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers.
- Move trailers within the yard when needed.
- Assist with general warehouse, yard, and shop duties.
- Follow all safety procedures and help maintain an organized work environment.
- Work closely with team members to complete daily production goals.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating overhead cranes, Pettibones, forklifts, or similar heavy material handling equipment is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Safety-focused mindset with the ability to follow established procedures.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and participate in on-the-job training.
