About this Marketing Manager (South Africa) role at Capital
Responsibilities:
As Marketing Manager, South Africa, you will own and grow Capital.com's marketing presence in the South African market — from brand building through to performance acquisition and client retention. You will be the local marketing lead, working in close partnership with the central marketing team to adapt global strategy and brand to the South African audience while meeting local commercial targets.
You are accountable for the full local marketing mix — brand, digital performance, affiliates, and agency relationships — within a regulated, client-centric financial business. The role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution and offers broad cross-functional exposure across brand, performance, compliance, and commercial teams in a fast-growing market.
• Develop and execute the full marketing strategy for South Africa, aligned with company objectives and local commercial targets.
• Own brand campaigns, digital performance activity, and affiliate partnerships to drive client acquisition and retention.
• Work closely with the central marketing team to localise global strategy and brand, ensuring consistent messaging and efficient execution.
• Monitor and report on campaign performance against core acquisition metrics (CPA, FTD, ROAS, LTV), with insights and recommendations to improve return on spend.
• Oversee local marketing and media agencies and manage the affiliate base — ensuring quality delivery, efficient media buying, and accountability.
• Ensure all local marketing activity meets FSCA financial-promotion requirements and POPIA, working with Legal and Compliance on sign-off.
• Own the local marketing budget — tracking spend against forecast and reporting on efficiency.
Requirements:
• Experience in CFD, trading, or retail investment marketing.
• Strong understanding of both brand and performance marketing.
• Experience working with a media agency on planning and buying offline media (OOH, TV, Press, Audio), or direct experience within a media agency on traditional media buying.
• Experience working with performance metrics: CPA, FTD, ROAS, LTV.
• Experience managing affiliates and coordinating cross-functional marketing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English.
Advantageous
• Postgraduate / Honours qualification in a related field.
Local market knowledge:
• Understanding of the South African consumer landscape and local media channels.
• Familiarity with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) — the local equivalent of GDPR, relevant for any marketing data handling.
• Working knowledge of FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority) guidelines for financial-services marketing and financial promotions.
