About this Managing Consultant- Process, Service Digital Transformation-Strategy Execution role at Phillips Consulting
pcl. is entering a new chapter. We're calling it pcl. 4.0, and it's built around three practice areas: Strategy & Operating Model, Process & Digital Transformation, and People, Culture & Workforce. This role sits inside Process, Service & Digital Transformation, and it's a senior one — we need someone who can walk into a client's messiest processes, figure out what's actually broken, and lead the team to fix it.
We're looking for a consultant who can do both well: hold their own in a boardroom conversation about strategy, and then sit down and actually design the automation, the workflow, and the architecture that make the strategy real. If you've spent your career either advising, building and selling strategies to help stabilise business IT infrastructure, keep reading.
What you'll actually be doing
Process consulting and automation: You'll lead engagements that start with "why is this so slow and manual" and end with a redesigned, digital-first workflow. That means diagnosing inefficiencies, building automation using tools like Power Automate, Zapier, or Zoho Creator, and finding real places to embed AI — document processing, decision automation, predictive analytics — into how clients actually operate. You'll run digital maturity assessments and turn them into transformation roadmaps that sequence process, technology and people changes in an order that actually works.
Digital architecture: You'll design systems that connect a client's workflows, data and platforms, not in the abstract, but in a way that's buildable. That includes advising on ERP integrations, CRM platforms, PMO tools, and reporting dashboards, and helping clients think through data governance. Over time, you'll also help us build out reusable IP — templates, toolkits, blueprints — that make every future engagement faster.
Service redesign: From stakeholder discovery through to piloting and rollout, you'll lead service redesign projects using human-centred and lean methods, and ensure the change actually sticks — training, governance, adoption — not just a nice deck at the end.
Security and compliance: You'll work on ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NDPR and PCI-DSS assessments, and build security-by-design thinking into the architectures and processes you deliver, working alongside our GRC and cybersecurity specialists.
Commercial and team work: You'll help scope and shape new engagements with the Client Value Engine and practice leadership, keep client relationships strong through delivery, and mentor the consultants and analysts working with you. We want you raising the bar on the team, not just clearing your own workload.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 10–14 years of experience, with real time spent in management consulting, professional services, or digital transformation advisory
- A track record of leading digital or process transformation engagements end-to-end, for mid-to-large organisations
- Hands-on experience with process automation tools, workflow platforms, or AI-enabled solutions — you've actually built these, not just read about them
- Experience advising on digital architecture, systems integration, or enterprise technology strategy
- Strong consulting fundamentals — structured problem-solving, executive communication, the ability to bring order to a messy situation
- Experience managing and developing consulting teams — coaching, feedback, keeping quality high under pressure
- Solid grounding in information security and GRC frameworks (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NDPR), with the ability to run assessments yourself
- A real understanding of how business gets done in Nigeria and West Africa
What would make you stand out
- You've deployed AI tools into live client processes — document intelligence, predictive analytics, chatbots, automated decisioning — and can talk about what actually worked
- Your background bridges business consulting and technology delivery
- You've worked with or pitched to mid-market and growth-stage Nigerian businesses — our primary focus under pcl. 4.0
- You've built consulting IP, products or frameworks that outlived the engagement they came from
- You've worked in public sector or financial services transformation
