Position Objective:

This leadership position will be responsible for supervision, clinical and administrative management of the Inpatient/ Residential counseling, case management, and treatment assistant staff to accomplish planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of substance use disorder (SUD) services and co-occurring capable mental health services on the Inpatient/ Residential Unit. This position works closely with, and provides backup support for, the Outpatient Manager, and reports to the Pathways Clinical Director.  Luminis Behavioral Health provides multiple levels of care; every staff member has a role in our patients’ success and staff may be asked to work in other areas of admission or treatment as needed.

 

Essential Job Duties:

1.          Responsible for weekly clinical supervision of Inpatient/ Residential counseling staff, reviewing all clinical documentation to meet Joint Commission, COMAR, and Pathways' regulations, requirements, and guidelines, supporting staff in managing caseloads, tracking client progress, and assisting staff in responding to each patient on an individualized basis.

2.          Maintains working knowledge of current inpatient/residential census and assigns new cases as applicable. Provides backup therapeutic support and case work when staff are on leave. Manages the daily census and schedule of intakes via collaboration between Admissions and Inpatient teams.

3.          Assists in the development of knowledge and skills by identifying learning opportunities and determining counselor strengths to maintain clinical competence and professional growth. Serves as teacher, trainer, and professional role model by providing alternative case conceptualizations, oversight of counselor work to achieve mutually agreed upon goals, and professional gatekeeping of staff and services for the organization

4.          Coaches and mentors the Treatment Assistant lead in ongoing development and management of treatment milieu and treatment assistant staff.

5.          Conducts ongoing assessment of Pathways' treatment enrollment and care delivery model to ensure alignment with current evidence• based practices and measurement-based care. Develop training protocols for staff education to facilitate new programming implementation.

6.          Works closely with the Clinical Director to identify and develop strategic goals for expansion of clinical services. The Inpatient Clinical Manager develops and implements action plans towards these goals.

7.          Facilitates inpatient residential treatment team meetings. Attends multidisciplinary clinical staff meetings and participates in in-service trainings. Serves as a member of select committees as necessary and prepares documented material in accordance with relevant guidelines in Continuous Quality Improvement reviews.

8. Provides leadership oversight through weekly chart audits to ensure Pathways staff compliance with Joint Commission, COMAR, and organizational standards. Coaches and mentors staff to strengthen clinical documentation, quality, and professional note-writing competencies.

9.          Maintains current schedule and develops new patient programing to include didactic, focus and therapeutic groups, speakers, and other treatment related activities; is responsible for managing group coverage due to vacancy.

10.      Engages in ongoing personal development to increase competencies and leadership training. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops and training, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. 

11.      Conducts yearly performance reviews for direct reports. Meets with staff to develop action plans in response to identified areas needing improvement. Actsas a liaison to Human Resources in case of necessary disciplinary actions.

12. Collaborates closely with the outpatient manager to ensure quality transitions between inpatient and outpatient levels of care.  Leads and facilitates inter-departmental team meetings and demonstrates flexibility by functioning interchangeably across roles as needed.

 

Required Education: A minimum of master's degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited university with significant coursework in substance use disorders.

 Required Experience: Three years of professional experience in substance use disorder treatment to include assessment, case management, group, family, or individual counseling. One year of demonstrated supervisory experience.

Required License/Certifications: Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) license OR Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) from the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists OR Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) from the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners. .

Preferred Experience/Licensure/Certifications: Strongly preferred: Previous experience in inpatient/residential substance use disorder treatment. In addition to graduate licensures, certification as CAC-AD from the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.

Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is to be obtained through Luminis Health within 30 days of hire.

$102,982.72$154,474.08 USD
