Manage the business’s physical assets (buildings, infrastructure and equipment) at the Yountville site. Responsible for the successful facilities and maintenance preventive and corrective work programs, utilizing an on-site team and contracted outsourced service providers.  Ensuring that infrastructure and equipment is safe, available, performs at its optimum, supports a top-notch guest experience, and maintains compliance.

Facility Maintenance

  • Ensure a facilities wide preventive maintenance asset-care program meeting Chandon stakeholders needs, placing an emphasis on customer service and reducing reactive work.
  • Ensure a successful repair request system with timely response including stakeholder alignment on priorities.
  • Ensure continuous update of the CMMS eMaint for recordkeeping, tracking repair projects and response times.
  • Lead maintenance priority and communication processes to ensure department and stakeholder needs are met.
  • Ensure department stakeholders establish weekly priorities for maintenance scheduling.
  • Establish and ensure a companywide escalation process for urgent maintenance repairs and respond to critical incidents and other events as required.
  • Ensure monthly performance review to evaluate department performance KPIs to target and determine actions to continually improve. 
  • Ensure a robust spare parts inventory program to ensure accurate inventories of critical spare parts to minimize downtime within budget.
  • Maintains functional knowledge of all site operations and equipment.

Outsourced Services Management

  • Develop and instill a team-oriented culture of positivity and engagement both within department and with outsourced service providers and across the business.
  • In conjunction with Purchasing and Quality, maintain vendor assessment process.
  • Develop and implement key KPIs for each service provider to evaluate performance and ensure accountability.
  • Supervise and coordinate work produced by outside vendors to maintain and repair various facility infrastructures.
  • Ensure proper onboarding programs in place to support outsourced service provider effectiveness.
  • Navigate challenges using a proactive professional approach to understanding all inputs, needs and utilizing tools of CAR, root cause and proactive communication.
  • Participate as a key contributor in Continuous Improvement Process.
  • Lead process improvement and ensure team's adherence to process improvements.
  • Ensure contracts align with company needs and renegotiate as needed.

Operations and Facility Compliance

  • Ensure federal, state and county compliance required for compliance related permitting as needed using the compliance portal via Internal Control.  This includes but not limited to pressure vessel permits, elevators, EPA, Napa County, and others.
  • Maintain Domestic water, Wastewater & Stormwater (ISWPP) compliance to include monthly monitoring, record keeping and system management utilizing outsourced service providers.
  • Maintain Yountville Site Hazardous Materials Business Plan documentation with Napa County due annually March 1st.  Ensure all other sites including Mt. Veeder are updated working in conjunction with the vineyard team.
  • Respond to critical incidents and other events as required, including escalation to management.
  • Facilitate compliance related projects as needed.

Quality, Safety & Environment

  • Demonstrate active and visible safety, environment, energy, quality and food safety leadership, management, and commitment.
  • Developing and promoting a strong culture that prioritizes safety, quality, reducing environmental impact & energy usage & food safety needs.
  • Ensure all team members actively participate in program requirements including company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Empower team to seek opportunities for improvement including training, weekly team chats, near miss and incident reporting, root cause investigations, corrective actions and resolutions.
  • Lead and ensure all safety for the maintenance internal and outsourced services teams including conducting job hazard risk analysis identifying potential safety concerns and ensuring thorough resolution.
  • Implementing and complying with the Integrated Management System (IMS) including but not limited to:
  • Controlling risks associated with work as far as is reasonably practicable using a documented risk management process and in consultation with those affected.
  • Developing and maintaining written procedures in Terra to ensure they remain current and accessible.
  • Identify process and compliance gaps with maintenance and outsourced services to ensure resolution.
  • Providing information, induction, training, and supervision to enable work to be carried out safely.
  • Providing materials, equipment, and tools to enable work to be carried out safely.
  • Maintain and update departmental Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Reporting, recording, and investigating all incidents, injuries and near misses in consultation with others using the iMH system.
  • Implementing actions plans from hazard/incident reports or investigations, inspections or audits.
  • Monitoring department performance including activities and performance indicators.
  • Ensure all contractors are suitably competent and qualified, meet insurance requirements, always have active work permits via Sine, operate adequate health and safety management systems, and are appropriately supervised.

 

Financial Management

  • Lead assigned cost center(s) budgeting, control and meeting financial targets set.
  • Lead developing operating budget (s) and budgets for capital projects.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed budgets focused on contract labor, OT, and maintenance/repair budgets.

Pay: $115,000 - $130,000/year, 10% target bonus

Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Languages:  English required, Spanish encouraged

Professional experience & know-how: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the wine industry. At least 3 years supervising a team.
  • Knowledge of safe production practices, including safety of equipment and following procedures.

Technical & management skills: 

  • Ability to lead a wide team, resource plan, prioritize, achieve targets, inclusive, team player, and have the capability of leading teams.
  • Ability to lead teams/contractors to ensure resolution via key expertise (electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, etc.)
  • Experience of CI, TPM, and 5S
  • Confident in computer packages including SAP, eMaint, MS Office, MS packages.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work across all areas of the business
