Why we're hiring:
WPP is seeking a Legal Counsel in Colombia to support WPP Media agencies across Andean and Central America region — including Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, and the Dominican Republic. Reporting to the Legal Director LATAM, you will review legal documents and negotiate client and supplier contracts to mitigate risk.
What you'll be doing:
- Contract Negotiation & Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate all types of contracts and legal documents for clients and suppliers, ensuring they are in compliance with WPP policies.
- Approvals & Signatures: Approve contracts and other legal documents for signature, and process the signing, filing, and serving of these documents to maintain a proper archive.
- RFPs & Bids: Review, ask questions, and provide legal comments on requests for proposals, and request and review policy terms for contracts or bids with clients.
- Platform & Reporting: Complete, review, and keep the contract platform up to date, and report activities to the regional and global levels.
- External Counsel & Litigation Management: Manage relationships with outside attorneys, monitor litigation, and handle corporate procedures.
- Advisory & Audits: Provide initial support for labor-related issues and offer legal support for internal and external audits.
Who you'll be working with:
As part of the Legal Department, you will report directly to the Legal Director LATAM. You will work closely with WPP Media agencies, internal teams, clients, vendors, and outside attorneys to ensure legal compliance and support business operations.
What you'll need:
- Education: Legal professional with a specialization or master's degree in contract law, commercial law, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in Contract and Corporate Law.
- Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English.
- Key Expertise:
- Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Proficiency in managing relationships with clients, vendors, and outside attorneys.
- Expertise in corporate and contract law.
- Expertise in the legal affairs of multinational companies.
