SUMMARY
We are looking for a curious, motivated Integrated Communications Intern to join our Columbus, OH team part-time, working 20-24 hours per week. This paid internship ($18/hour) offers hands-on exposure to the intersection of paid, earned, owned, and shared media channels while supporting the company's existing client relationships.
This is a hybrid work from home/office position (in-office attendance is required on Tuesdays & Thursdays) and the candidate must live near Columbus, OH.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct new business and client/competitor research and analysis
- Develop media lists, influencer lists, editorial calendars, and media results reports
- Participate in internal team and client meetings
- Write news releases, website copy, fact sheets, collateral copy, social media content, and other materials; support development of integrated campaign materials, including case studies
- Conduct social media and brand research, as well as audits
- Interact with local, trade, and national media, as well as influencers, when appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Currently pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree, with junior or senior class standing preferred; preference given to public relations, communications, marketing, advertising, and journalism majors, but all majors will be considered
- Prior internship experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism is a plus
- Strong research, writing, organizational, and time management skills
- A proven understanding of marketing and communications, social media, digital and traditional media
- Excellent communication skills; proficiency using AP Style is preferred
- Solid critical thinking skills and the ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently and in team settings within an in-person and/or hybrid setting
- Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading
- A positive attitude and drive
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
