About this Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Civil Quality Inspector, ANS role at Infrastructureand Capital Projects
THE WORK:
• You’ll verify that work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and quality control plans.
• You’ll perform material receiving inspections and verify compliance with project requirements.
• You’ll witness field testing activities, including soil compaction, concrete testing, and other quality assurance tests.
• You’ll ensure proper installation and workmanship of civil infrastructure components. Documentation & Reporting
• You’ll maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
• You’ll review and verify Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality checklists.
• You’ll prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports as required.
• You’ll document non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and follow-up inspections.
• You’ll ensure all quality records are properly filed and maintained for project closeout. Compliance & Standards
• You’ll ensure compliance with project specifications, local building codes, industry standards, and company requirements.
• You’ll monitor contractor adherence to approved procedures and quality control requirements. • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• You’ll support implementation of the project's Quality Management System (QMS).
• You’ll coordinate inspections with construction supervisors, subcontractors, testing laboratories, and client representatives.
• You’ll attend quality meetings and provide updates on inspection activities and quality issues.
• You’ll work closely with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
• You’ll identify quality trends and recommend improvements to construction practices.
• You’ll assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• You’ll promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on the project site.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Relevant technical certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
• OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training Experience
• 3–7 years of experience in civil construction quality inspection
• Experience with heavy civil, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, utility, or renewable energy projects preferred
• Knowledge of concrete, earthwork, grading, and utility installation quality requirements

• ICC Inspector Certifications
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
• NICET Certification (where applicable)
• FAA part 107, Certified Drone Pilot Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and applicable construction standards
• Ability to interpret quality plans, test reports, and inspection procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software
• Strong communications, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
