About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and versatile Head of Marketing to lead and scale the marketing function in Malaysia. This is a senior leadership role suited for a full-spectrum, all-rounder marketer with strong startup DNA — someone who can build from the ground up, drive growth across multiple channels, and ensure that marketing outcomes directly support commercial objectives. The role involves strategic leadership, hands-on execution, and cross-functional collaboration for Malaysia market.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy and roadmap for the Malaysia market.
- Set up, manage, and scale a multidisciplinary marketing team across brand, digital, communications, events, and growth.
- Identify new opportunities, quick wins, and strategic channels to accelerate expansion.
- Strengthen the marketing engine through improved messaging, funnels, processes, and go-to-market support.
- Balance high-level strategic direction with hands-on execution where needed.
Brand & Communications
- Enhance brand positioning and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Develop compelling campaigns, content frameworks, and go-to-market materials.
Campaigns, Events & Activations
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns across digital, offline events, trade shows, and activations.
- Drive market engagement and support commercial teams in acquisition and retention initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Product, and other key functions to ensure aligned execution.
- Support market expansion activities and future product rollouts.
Requirements
Experience & Background
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in startup or zero-to-one environments; able to build processes, teams, and systems from scratch.
- Strong preference for candidates from fintech, tech, or strategic marketing solution agencies.
- Experience with offline marketing (roadshows, trade events, activations) is an advantage.
- Comfortable managing substantial marketing budgets and multi-channel campaigns.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to tie marketing efforts to measurable business outcomes.
- Analytical, data-driven, and highly execution-focused.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.
- Creative problem solver with agility and adaptability typical of high-growth environments
