Who We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a Head of Data to join our leadership team and define the future of data at Easyship, from strategy and infrastructure to AI innovation and business enablement. This role is pivotal in transforming how we use data to make decisions, innovate, and scale. You'll lead the charge in unlocking the value of data across the business, driving operational efficiency, product intelligence, and long-term strategic advantage.
What you additionally need to know:
This is a full-time, onsite role based in our Bengaluru (MG Road) office. The role follows UK collaboration hours (11:00AM–8:00PM IST) to support seamless cross-regional execution.
What would be you be responsible for:
- Owning and defining our company-wide Data & AI strategy, ensuring it's tightly aligned with Easyship’s business goals.
- Leading and scaling a high-performing data team across analytics, data engineering, and (eventually) data science.
- Championing AI and machine learning initiatives, supporting the company’s evolution toward a smarter, more automated product.
- Collaborating with leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to ensure data is accessible, actionable, and impactful.
- Guiding architectural decisions, including analytics platforms, infrastructure, and tooling — even if not hands-on day-to-day.
- Ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance, fostering trust in the data we use to make critical decisions.
- Prioritising based on ROI, helping the company focus on initiatives that move the needle.
- Enabling self-serve analytics, giving stakeholders the tools and knowledge to answer their own questions.
- Driving a culture of experimentation, insight, and continuous improvement.
You Might Be a Good Fit If…
- You have 7+ years of experience as a Head of Data or senior data leadership role.
- You are a strategic thinker who understands how data drives business growth and operational excellence.
- You have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of aligning leadership and technical teams around a shared vision.
- You have a deep understanding of AI/ML concepts and application, with a proven ability to deliver PoCs and pilots.
- You have experience scaling and managing data teams, including hiring, mentorship, and team development.
- You are familiar with modern data architecture and pipelines; bonus points if you've worked with GCP and tools like BigQuery, Looker, or DBT.
- You possess resourcefulness, resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, team-based environment, balancing long-term vision with short-term delivery needs.
- You have a "Data-First" approach and strong analytical skills, using ROI assessment methodologies to prioritize initiatives.
- You are skilled in influencing and collaborating with distributed global teams, willing to roll up your sleeves when needed and unblock teams to move quickly.
