What's the opportunity?
As our Head of Accounting Brazil, you will lead the day-to-day accounting operations of the Brazilian entity, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of our accounting records and financial reporting. You will oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, maintain a strong internal control environment, support regulatory compliance, and ensure the timely preparation of all statutory and regulatory financial reports for a regulated Payment Institution. Serving as our primary local accounting leader, you will partner closely with global finance, product, tax, and compliance teams, while leading local statutory audits and discussions with Big Four partners.
What will I be doing?
Leading all day-to-day accounting activities for the Brazilian legal entities.
Ensuring accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with IFRS and Group Accounting Policies.
Overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely reporting.
Reviewing and approving journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting adjustments at the Brazil level.
Ensuring appropriate accounting treatment for new products, commercial arrangements, and business initiatives.
Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting accounting records, and sustaining a strong internal control environment over financial reporting.
Leading the preparation, review, and submission of all accounting and regulatory reports required by the Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN).
Ensuring compliance with BACEN accounting standards, reporting instructions, regulatory deadlines, and SOX/internal control requirements.
Coordinating interactions with internal regulatory teams, external regulators, and leading local statutory audits with Big Four auditors.
Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their accounting and reporting implications.
Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared, reviewed, and resolved on a timely basis, driving the resolution of reconciling differences.
Leading, developing, and mentoring the Brazil Accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
What skills do I need?
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Brazilian CPA (CRC registration) required.
Postgraduate qualification or MBA preferred.
Strong knowledge of IFRS.
Strong understanding of BACEN accounting regulations applicable to regulated Payment Institutions.
Experience preparing statutory financial statements and regulatory reports.
Advanced English (written and spoken).
Portuguese fluent.
