About this Fullstack Software Engineer role at Spector.ai
Role Description
We are seeking an experienced fullstack engineer to own both the frontend and backend of our Platform team, the backbone of Spector responsible for modeling equipment and asset information and delivering the user interface through which customers experience the entire product.
This is a high-ownership role for a hands-on engineer who moves fluidly across the stack, cares about the systems everything else is built on, thrives in a startup environment, and is passionate about our mission.
You will:
Own the frontend and backend of the Platform team, modeling equipment information and delivering the user interface for Spector.
Design and evolve the data models, APIs, and services that represent industrial assets and equipment.
Build intuitive, performant interfaces that make complex reliability data clear and actionable.
Weigh technical tradeoffs, review code, and uphold exceptional quality while iterating quickly.
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as computer science, and 3+ years of software engineering experience.
Proven experience building and shipping production web applications end to end.
Strong proficiency with React and Angular on the frontend and with Python and Node.js on the backend; familiarity with Java.
Solid understanding of API design, data modeling, and databases.
Strong collaboration and mentorship skills, working effectively with internal and external partners.
Entrepreneurial mindset: self-motivated, adaptable, and ready to take ownership of projects from concept to implementation.
Preferred to have:
Experience designing platform or core-domain systems that other teams build on top of.
Experience building data-dense interfaces such as dashboards, monitoring, or analytics tooling.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability.
Familiarity with industrial, IoT, or time series/sensor data.
