Job Description
The Frederick Keys Stadium Operations Intern is a part-time internship designed only for current university students who will be receiving college credit for participation in this internship. The Stadium Operations Intern will be gaining real-world experience with responsibilities within the organization. They will receive the opportunity to work with an experienced operations and grounds team, build a strong professional network, and maintain a top facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Facility Management, or similar fields.
- Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Safe operation of small engine equipment (leaf blower, string trimmers, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work on foot for long periods of time
- Organized individual who can complete tasks in a timely manner
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in facility preparation for home games and outside events, as assigned by Stadium Operations Manager
- Aid in daily operation and maintenance of a 5,000-seat ballpark
- Gain knowledge and familiarity in planning and executing events within our facility, general facility upkeep, and inventory or ordering of supplies
- Work Frederick Keys home games as directed by the Stadium Operations Manager
- Spend time shadowing and learning from top-tier operations and grounds staff, as directed by the Stadium Operations Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, inspections, submitting and organizing invoices, and reviewing outside vendors.
- Assist with the set-up and break down of non-game events held at the stadium
- Assist with the organization and inventory of operation storage spaces
- Work with the operations team to ensure the ballpark is operating in a safe and efficient manner
- Learn more about and assist with the winterization of Nymeo Field
- All other duties assigned by Senior Marketing and Gameday Manager, Stadium Operations Manager, Managing Director, or General Manager of the Keys
