The Field Operations Coordinator plays a key role in supporting daily field operations by ensuring accurate workforce data, clear communication, and efficient manpower coordination. This position serves as a central liaison between Field Operations leadership, Human Resources, Payroll, Workforce Development, and Talent Acquisition to support the hiring, training, and retention of craft employees, including Foremen, Apprentices, Electrical Workers, and Journeymen.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate workforce records, supporting timekeeping and attendance processes, coordinating employee transfers, and ensuring leadership has real-time data to make informed decisions. The Field Operations Coordinator helps keep projects running smoothly while ensuring compliance with company policies and workforce requirements.
Workforce & Operations Support
- Monitor and follow up on daily field reports to ensure timely submission and approval for payroll accuracy
- Track workforce attendance, including absences, no-call/no-shows, and missing time entries
- Identify trends in absenteeism and partner with leadership and HR on follow-up actions
- Compile and distribute daily site headcount reports for leadership visibility
- Support and track employee performance evaluations, ensuring timely completion
- Maintain project logistics information, including jobsite details and leadership updates
Manpower & Field Coordination
- Coordinate employee transfers between jobsites, ensuring smooth transitions and proper onboarding (orientation, badging, licensing)
- Manage and maintain workforce assignments in Bridgit Bench and other systems
- Assign new craft hires to projects, and confirm jobsite placement
- Track and manage craft transfer requests in alignment with project needs
- Partner with General Superintendents to review manpower needs and forecast workforce demand
- Ensure employee status changes (pay, title, location, per diem) are accurate and submitted on time
Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain accurate HR and payroll-related records for field employees
- Review timecards and workforce data to ensure accuracy across systems
- Generate and analyze reports (attendance, manpower, workforce trends)
- Ensure data integrity across workforce tracking tools and platforms
Training & Compliance Support
- Track required training for field leadership, including OSHA certifications
- Follow up to ensure training and jobsite requirements are completed
- Monitor and maintain employee licensing compliance
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure new hire documentation is uploaded
- Conduct audits to ensure roles align with licensing and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
- Experience with workforce data or coordination (construction environment preferred)
- Ability to collaborate across departments and leadership levels
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
