OVERVIEW
We're looking for a full-time Marketing Account Director to lead a team of Account Managers. As a digital marketing leader, you will own the quality and performance of the marketing work your delivers for our SMB clients.
This is a hands-on marketing leadership role, not a sales role. You won't carry a quota or sell new business. Instead, your focus lies at the intersection of strong client relationships, setting campaign strategy, reviewing the actual marketing work your team produces, coaching Account Managers to deliver stronger results, and making sure every client sees measurable ROI from their campaigns. You should be someone who can do the marketing work and is ready to lead a team that does it at scale. In collaboration with company leadership, the Account Director is responsible for Wishpond Technologies' success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5–8 Account Managers who run day-to-day digital marketing delivery for SMB clients.
• Raise the bar on campaign quality and marketing execution across the team, you can do the work, and you teach it.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Run kickoff calls for new clients — set expectations, align on budgets, and build the digital marketing strategy (channels, targeting, funnel, and ROI benchmarks) for the engagement.
• Partner with the ads team to turn that strategy into executable paid media, SEO, email, and landing-page plans, and deliver them to the client with confidence.
• Stay close to strategy as campaigns run, adjusting based on performance data.
• Own the quality and performance of the marketing your team ships, review assets, copy, campaigns, and reporting before anything reaches a client.
• Turn campaign data into proactive optimizations that drive demonstrable client ROI.
• Spot patterns across the team and fix them at the system level, not one client at a time.
• Lead your team in using our full AI tool stack to deliver high-quality work at a pace traditional agencies can't match.
• Own the quality bar on AI-assisted assets, copy, and reporting.
• Stay ahead of what's possible with AI, bring new applications and workflows to the team as the tools evolve.
• Contribute to the broader evolution of Wishpond's service model, processes, and standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years in digital marketing, account management, or client strategy, with at least 2 years in a leadership, team lead, or senior supervisory role. Experience in an SMB‑focused agency or SaaS environment is a strong asset.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing full-funnel marketing strategies, including paid media (Meta/Google Ads), SEO, email marketing, and landing pages/CRO.
• A deep understanding of what drives marketing ROI for small and mid-sized businesses, with a proven track record of retaining and growing client relationships.
• Experience building or refining onboarding and client success processes.
• A collaborative, highly effective communicator, comfortable and credible in front of both clients and your team.
• Experience leading senior client-facing conversations, including kickoffs, budgets, and strategy.
• Strong coaching instincts and a genuine interest in developing people.
• Comfort working across a full AI tool stack, and the ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and owning outcomes
• As part of a diverse team, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Must be technical, analytical, results-driven and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Organized, administratively strong, and have solid writing, phone, and general communication skills.
• Background in paid media, SEO, email, or full-funnel campaign strategy.
• Hands-on experience with GoHighLevel (GHL) — an advantage, not a requirement.
• Fluent in English; most of our clients are based in the US and Canada
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This is a 100% remote position, and the individual could be based anywhere outside of Canada.
• Given the nature of this role, it is expected that the successful candidate will provide their own workstation, computer, and headset and have a fast and reliable internet connection. Certain roles will be required to utilize and or download company-approved software.
• The individual must be willing to work standard business hours in either the Pacific Time Zone or the Eastern Time Zone.
• Due to the nature of this role, we may verify backgrounds, including conducting employment references, criminal records, and credit checks.
• Once hired, the successful candidate must provide a governmental photo ID and proof of residential address as part of the onboarding process.
