Essential Functions:
Facilities Management
-
Oversee the maintenance and operation of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, compressed air, and backup power systems.

Schedule, assign, and perform maintenance work including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, roofing, heating, ventilation, and general building repairs.

Ensure all facility equipment remains in proper working order through preventative and routine maintenance programs.

Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance schedules and work order systems.
-
Perform routine maintenance and oversee minor construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects.
-
Coordinate facility modifications, equipment installations, office reconfigurations, and production area improvements with Operations.

Monitor the performance of janitorial, landscaping, pest control, security, and other facility service providers.
-
Manage facility budgets, maintenance expenses, inventory of parts and supplies, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, asset inventories, maintenance KPIs, ticket turnaround times, and departmental reporting.

Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend facility emergencies.
Safety
-
Lead and administer the company's workplace safety program to promote a safe and compliant work environment.

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and applicable local, state, and federal workplace safety regulations.

Conduct routine facility safety inspections and identify potential hazards or unsafe working conditions.

Partner with department leaders to implement corrective actions and maintain safe work practices.

Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

Develop and maintain safety procedures, training materials, and documentation.
-
Coordinate and facilitate safety training for employees, including new hire safety orientation and recurring training as required.

Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, inspection documentation, and required regulatory reporting.

Oversee workplace safety practices including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response procedures, and safe material handling.

Ensure fire extinguishers, first aid supplies, emergency equipment, and evacuation plans are maintained and routinely inspected.

Coordinate emergency drills and partner with Operations leadership to ensure employees understand emergency procedures.

Promote a culture of safety by encouraging employee engagement, reporting of hazards, and continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, coach, train, and develop the Facilities team through performance management, goal setting, and ongoing development.

Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee contractor performance to ensure quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness.

Partner closely with Operations, Quality, Compliance, HR, Security, and leadership teams to support business objectives and maintain a safe, efficient facility.

Plan and execute facility-related capital improvement projects, renovations, and expansions from planning through completion.

Support facility inspections, audits, and regulatory visits as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll Need to Succeed:
-
5+ years of facilities, maintenance, or plant operations experience, preferably in manufacturing, food production, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry.

2+ years of leadership experience supervising maintenance or facilities personnel.
-
Experience administering workplace safety programs and ensuring OSHA compliance.
-
Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, building automation, UPS, and facility infrastructure systems.

Experience developing preventative maintenance programs; CMMS experience preferred.

Strong project management, contractor management, and vendor management experience.
-
Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-
Must be hands-on and willing to actively participate in maintenance and repair activities alongside the team.

Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to promote accountability and a positive safety culture.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems.
Physical Requirements:
-
Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
-
Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, crawl, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces as needed.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
-
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additional Requirements:

Must be available for occasional evening, weekend, and on-call emergency response.

Must meet age requirements established by applicable state cannabis regulations.
-
Must successfully complete all required background checks and fingerprinting.
-
Must obtain and maintain all required state cannabis badges, licenses, and credentials.
-
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
