About this Executive Assistant to CEO Co-founder role at Healthtech-1
We're unlocking access to the NHS, because healthcare is not truly free until it's truly accessible π
The worldβs best healthcare, for free. It's not a new idea, it's called the NHS. But the largest healthcare provider is fundamentally broken. Patient satisfaction is at an all time low, and the biggest reason cited is lack of access. So weβre on a mission to fix it with technology that actually works.
We're building the front door of UK healthcare, creating a future where one billion NHS appointments are transparent and instantly bookable, and patients are guided to the right service first time using AI.
We're developing critical national infrastructure. Today, 26% of GP practices in England use our patient registration software, while one in five GP practices in London use Bookable Search to help new patients find and book appointments seamlessly.
Our latest product, Bookable Navigator, extends this vision by automatically booking appointments for existing patients.
We operate from within a working GP practice in East London π₯ We're backed by Y Combinator, Innovate UK and the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, and were previously ranked the 8th fastest-growing startup in the UK and 33rd fastest-growing in Europe π

π Hello from Raj
π― Mission statement
We have an ambitious mission: to unlock access to healthcare by making every appointment in the NHS bookable. To reach national scale, Raj needs to spend his time on strategy and execution, not admin and logistics. Your job is to run his operation flawlessly so nothing slips and he's always prepared.
We invest heavily in development, care deeply about our people, and will support you when needed. BUT you must be comfortable with pressure and prepared to work 60+ hours a week.
π― Goal expectations
The goal: Make Raj more effective, and act as a force multiplier for the company. Help us hit 50,000 Weekly Appointments Booked by September 2026.
Your role directly contributes to this by:
Ensuring Raj's time reflects our priorities
Make Raj a decision-making engine
Success looks like:
Raj's calendar actually matches company priorities (not just what's urgent)
As a result, Raj feels that the vast majority of his time is spent on the right things
Nothing gets lost - actions tracked, commitments delivered
Meetings happen smoothly - right people, right prep, actions, owners and deadlines
Raj never chases you for updates
Zero typos, broken links, or half-done work
π Your 30 / 60 / 90 day plan
By day 30: Get the engine running
Output: Raj's operation is visibly smoother.
You will have:
Mastered calendar and inbox - you know what matters to Raj, what is noise, and what is not.
Shadowed Raj in all meetings - you understand his meetings, priorities, and working style
Established your quality standards and techniques to meet them - nothing leaves your desk with errors
Run logistics for 5+ major meetings - materials ready, people briefed, no surprises
Built your action tracking system - Raj's commitments are visible and moving forward, no actions have been missed
By day 60: Make hard things easy
Output: Raj trusts you completely with his operation.
You will have:
Calendar on autopilot - you make judgment calls and Raj agrees with them, you schedule to priorities not requests
Inbox at zero daily - you respond on his behalf when appropriate, flag urgent, eliminate noise
Rajβs meeting prep is reliably excellent, also has a venue (rooms if internal), starts on time, has buffer zones where needed
Tracked 50+ actions to completion, with nil missed
Youβre acting as a reliable, independent thought partner who can challenge Raj when needed but also play with his ideas to optimise his creativity and output
Observe and take note of what gives Raj energy e.g. meditation, exercise and ensure he has space to do this each day
By day 90: Set the standard
Output: You're indispensable to how Raj operates.
You will have:
Raj delegates tasks once and forgets them - he trusts they're done
Zero dropped balls - your tracking system means nothing slips
Meeting quality is consistent - prep happens without Raj thinking about it
You've optimised Raj's calendar multiple times based on what actually gets results
You've built templates and systems that make recurring work effortless
You and Raj complement each otherβs mindsets and abilities, you catch details he misses, you know when to bring Raj back into focus and how to prioritise his ideas
You understand how to create a world where Raj can work at his optimum, sometimes last minute and amongst chaos, but create time and space for him to channel that energy into order so the rest of the team can thrive in structure, good communication and clarity
You're always two steps ahead - no firefighting, just smooth execution
π Scope of the role
You fully own:
Calendar management - protect time, align to priorities, optimize for effectiveness
Inbox triage - respond when appropriate, flag urgent, eliminate noise
Meeting logistics - scheduling, materials prep, attendee briefing, room setup
Task management - action tracking, chase completion, flag blockers
Quality control - proofread everything both yours and Rajβs, check every link, catch every error
Admin execution - expenses, travel, documentation, whatever needs doing including personal tasks e.g. dentist appointments
Protect Raj's daily fuel - (exercise, 1hr meditation, family) and be his family's contact to ensure he shows up for what matters
You do not own:
Strategic decisions or recommendations
Special projects spanning multiple functions
Managing other people's teams
Pete's operation (he has his own FA/EA)
Functional execution (engineering, sales, support)
Opportunities for progression:
This is one of the fastest growing health tech startups in the UK. We may be a small team of 40 (currently) but we are mighty, serving 26% of the country with our first product and with lofty ambitions ahead. As Raj and the company grows, so will this role too, and in the future there is the opportunity to be the right hand person to the CEO of a company serving up critical infrastructure to the NHS and its patients.
π About you
2-4 years as a top-tier EA
Mission-driven - you Care deeply about the NHS
High-energy and excited to get the job done
Obsessive about quality - errors don't happen on your watch
Exceptional prioritisation - you know what's urgent vs important
Proactive communicator - you update before being asked
Calm under pressure - you thrive when it's chaotic, and can juggle many tasks in parallel
Judgment you can trust - you make the right call when Raj isn't available
π Nice to have
Experience supporting C-suite in high-growth startups
Built systems that made teams more effective
πΒ A bit about us
π Weβre all NHS staff. Weβre inside-outsiders. Trusted with one of the biggest datasets in the world.
π₯ Our office is within a GP practice. This is our unfair advantage. Got a question? Pop down the corridor. Want to learn how your work affects real patients? Pop downstairs to reception.
πͺπΌ 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH (for most roles). We highly prioritise in-person communication and prefer candidates who want to work 4+ days a week in the office. Our anchor days are Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri. Homemade breakfast and lunch are on the house every day when you're in the office, ensuring you're fuelled for success!
π We work in growth cycles. Every 8 weeks we do the same set of activities. 1 week outside of Business-as-Usual to research, strategise, plan our work. 7 weeks to knuckle down and deliver it.
π€ Weβre highly collaborative. One of the benefits of a high trust team is we often work autonomously, but as a team weβre very collaborative by nature. Two heads are often better than one, and we frequently lean on each other to solve problems together.
π€π½ Weβre backed by industry leaders. Weβre on the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator, backed by the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Program, winners of the London Business School Healthtech Challenge, Innovate UK, and Y Combinator (S23).
πΒ An opportunity for real upside
πΒ Paid volunteer days. We offer an additional 2 paid days off per year where you can give back to your mission of choice.
π’Β Every 8 weeks we take a day off to socialise as a team. In the past weβve hiked box hill, raved at All Points East and spent one rainy day at Thorpe park. This works out as 6 working days a year.
π Learning budget of Β£250 annually and time off to spend it - we care about this; this is flexible and based on need but everyone will receive a yearly allocation towards their continual growth.
π½οΈ Homemade breakfast and lunch are on the house when you're in the office, ensuring you're fuelled for success!
π₯‘ Team takeaways every Monday night
π₯ Health and fitness budget of Β£60 per month - see more here
π§ββοΈ An additional 7 days of paid leave is available if you want to take time to learn how to meditate.
π« Tooling; Youβll have your choice of operating systems and any additional tools you need to do your best work (e.g. keyboard, additional monitors, mouse etc). If youβre on our Engineering teams youβll receive the latest MacBook Pro and our Growth & Ops teams receives a MacBook Air.
π©ΊΒ We know health and family come first which is why we have a generous sick leave policy with additional days that can be taken for mental health leave.
βοΈΒ We prioritise time outside of work to bond, once a year weβll holiday together! Destination chosen by popular vote. In 2025, we spent 8 days in a surf camp in France!
π No private medical insurance, because we believe in the NHS and we are here to improve it!
π₯ Parental leave: Post passing probation it is: statutory - 6 weeks 90% pay then, SMP for 33 weeks; if you've been an employee for a year: 12 weeks 100% pay then, SMP for 27 weeks; and if you have been here for 2 years: 18 weeks 100% pay then, SMP for 21 weeks. This will improve over time. We also include up to Β£9,000 of childcare contribution for primary caregivers to support a five-day return where possible.
πͺ Fertility leave. We understand how difficult a fertility journey can be. This is why we give an extra 5 days off per year if you or your partner are going through fertility treatment.
π Pension - We operate a standard 3% employer contribution and employees auto-contribute 5% of their salary. We use Nest as our provider.
π‘ Local living benefit - A one-off benefit to support living closer to the office: Β£5,000 if you live within a 30-minute walk, or Β£2,500 within a 30-minute bike. It is optional, available immediately on signing, and not linked to performance or progression.
π If you choose to work late in the office, you can expense dinner after 7pm and an Uber home after 9pm, or earlier if you feel unsafe travelling in the dark. This is optional and about wellbeing, not performance or expectations.
β΅οΈAnd of course, an adventure of a lifetime!
πΒ Inclusive & Diverse by Design
We care about building a product that is loved and a culture that is rich in perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds.
Our team represents more than ten different cultures. We come together every lunch time for a home cooked meal, rotated among team members!
We want everyone in our team to know that they belong. We are purposeful about this and are proactively building a company that is inclusive of all people; from race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, neurodiversity, disability, colour, and national origin - essentially every type of diversity. We donβt just want people who fit in, we want them to fit together. We're active in continually improving the way we make this happen.
