The Role:
As an Engineering Talent Lead at Sunrise, you’ll own hiring for the next stage of Sunrise’s engineering team growth.
You’ll report directly to the CEO, leading full-cycle recruiting across engineering (AI, Simulation, Robotics, Deployment and Infrastructure) while collaborating on putting systems in place that make hiring structured, repeatable, and fast.
This is a hands-on, high-leverage individual contributor role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, works directly with founders, and knows how to deliver quality hires without compromising the bar.
What You’ll Do:
Own full-cycle recruiting for key roles across engineering (AI, Simulation, Robotics, Deployment and Infrastructure) - from sourcing to closing.
Partner with founders and hiring managers to define roles, sharpen requirements, and drive high-quality hiring decisions.
Source proactively through outbound, referrals, and niche technical communities.
Deliver exceptional candidate experience - clear communication, fast feedback, and mission-driven storytelling.
Build scalable hiring systems - scorecards, interviewer calibration, and ATS best practices (Ashby preferred).
Track and improve key metrics - time-to-fill, funnel health, and quality of hire; share insights weekly.
Lay the groundwork for growth by documenting processes and support the foundation of building a broader talent team.
Who You Are:
Experienced technical recruiter who has successfully hired across multiple engineering functions in high-growth deep tech or robotics/AI environments.
You like to understand the business inside out and use this knowledge/insight to help sharpen role requirements, find the best people and act as a true gatekeeper of talent across the organziaton.
Comfortable sourcing and closing senior technical talent.
Structured and analytical - you use data, scorecards, and evidence to drive decisions.
Builder mentality - you enjoy creating lightweight systems and improving process quality.
Calm, clear communicator who builds trust quickly with candidates and hiring managers.
High integrity and ownership - you move fast without cutting corners.
Strong attention to detail.
Deep curiosity for how high-performance teams are built and a strong connection to Sunrise’s mission.
Ability to automate what can be automated, so you can focus on the human part where it matters.
Good to Have:
Experience with Ashby or other modern ATS tools and automations.
Familiarity with EU/UK and US startup hiring best practices.
