About this Engineering Systems Analyst role at General Matter
About the Company
General Matter enriches uranium.
We are designing, building, and operating the world’s lowest-cost enrichment services, here in the US.
In the process, we are restoring America’s ability to produce nuclear fuel to power AI, advanced manufacturing and critical industries our country relies on to remain competitive.
Fuel drives the cost of advanced reactor electricity production, and enrichment drives the cost of the fuel that advanced reactors consume. Reliable, low-cost enrichment is the catalyst for the nuclear Renaissance now under way.
Our mission is to make nuclear not only the cleanest and safest source of baseload power, but also the most affordable. We believe abundant nuclear energy will lead to a post-scarcity society.
We were incubated inside Founders Fund, like Anduril and Palantir before us, and are backed by over a dozen of the world's top venture capital firms.
Our lean, world-class team of engineers and operators is applying a first-principles approach to solving the problem of nuclear fuel production.
We are a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency.
Help us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable.
About This Role
We are seeking an Engineering Systems Analyst to own the engineering platforms used to design, build, and operate our chemical processing facilities. This role is responsible for the architecture, deployment, and operation of CAD, PDM/PLM, and engineering data systems, and will personally stand up and administer these systems in the early stages. You will establish the technical and procedural foundation for configuration control, change management, and engineering data integrity across the full lifecycle of the plant. This is a high-ownership role for an exceptional individual who combines strong architectural judgment with hands-on execution in serious, regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, deployment, and operation of CAD, PDM/PLM, and engineering data systems.
- Personally install, configure, and administer these platforms initially.
- Lead evaluation and selection of engineering platforms (e.g., Siemens NX/Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Autodesk, plant design systems).
- Define and enforce authoritative data models for parts, equipment, drawings, and configuration baselines.
- Design and implement integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, QMS/EHS, asset management).
- Establish and run change control, release, configuration management, and data governance processes.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years owning engineering systems or PLM for complex physical systems or facilities.
- Proven experience deploying and operating CAD/PDM/PLM platforms in production.
- Deep experience with at least one major PLM ecosystem (e.g., Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE, Windchill).
- Strong understanding of configuration management, ECO/ECN, and BOM structures.
- Experience in regulated or high-consequence industries (e.g., chemical, energy, aerospace, semiconductor, nuclear).
- Ability to operate as both architect and hands-on owner in high-accountability environments.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with plant or factory design systems (piping, isometrics, equipment layout, instrumentation).
- Experience integrating engineering systems with ERP or quality/compliance platforms.
- Background including both top-tier companies and high-performance startups or scale-ups.
- Experience building engineering systems from zero or near-zero.
- Familiarity with as-built data, handover packages, and lifecycle asset management.
- Strong technical communication and standards-setting skills.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
