About this Electronic Health Record Administrator role at Hopeservices
To oversee the security and administration of the EHR database, including managing software and systems performance issues, updating code, training staff on utilization, and liaison with agency IT systems administration and software support.
Essential Functions
The following responsibilities represent the essential functions of the position:
- Avatar form modeling- Creation and modification of all Avatar forms used by Hope Services staff.
- Reports- Creation and modification of all Crystal Reports utilized by the Avatar software.
- Creation and modification of all Microsoft Access reports utilized by Hope management.
- Programming- All reports are created using Visual Basic code. Knowledge of SQL is required.
- Management of Database connectivity between all computers on the Hope counseling center network.
- Avatar software administration- Includes updating the system, monitoring for software bugs, communication with Netsmart support staff.
- Staff support- Assistance/Training of staff relating to computer/software issues.
- Error Correction- Daily monitoring and correction of any Avatar errors related to billing.
- Billing- Responsible for monthly SARC billing accuracy/submission and County monthly billing accuracy.
- Audits- Preparation and assistance during annual Hope Services audit.
Qualifications Required
Must be personable and professional, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have knowledge of: C language, database administration, SQL knowledge required, EHR systems with existing and changing technical standards, best practices, and browser compatibility issues. Must have command over required code. Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently. At least 3 years of experience working in database admin environments. Computer competence in Microsoft and web-based software required. Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related field preferred. Environmental Conditions Primarily an office environment. Long periods of sitting and computer use. Time spent on the telephone and in meetings varies. Some early morning, evening and work hours may be required.
