We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Supervisor to support the supervision and inspection of electrical installation works for a large-scale project in Dubai, UAE. This site-based role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, practical construction supervision experience, and the ability to monitor day-to-day installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supervising electrical installations on large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects, preferably including data center or technically complex construction environments.
You will play a key role in monitoring contractor performance, supervising electrical installation activities, supporting inspections, identifying site issues, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring electrical works are completed in line with project quality, safety, and schedule expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise day-to-day electrical installation activities on site, ensuring works are performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Monitor electrical works, including MV/LV power distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, cable trays, containment, cabling, grounding, lighting, small power, panels, and related electrical installations.
- Conduct and support site inspections to verify installation quality, progress, workmanship, and compliance with project standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, electrical engineers, consultants, QA/QC teams, HSE teams, commissioning teams, vendors, and project management representatives.
- Review daily electrical site activities and ensure manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and work fronts are properly coordinated.
- Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules, look-ahead plans, installation sequences, and daily work targets.
- Identify installation issues, coordination gaps, access constraints, quality concerns, safety risks, and construction delays, escalating matters to project leadership when required.
- Support inspection readiness by coordinating with QA/QC teams and ensuring electrical works are ready for inspection, testing, and approval.
- Verify that electrical installation works are completed in compliance with approved inspection and test plans, quality procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
- Monitor site safety practices and ensure electrical activities are carried out in accordance with project HSE requirements.
- Review and comment on electrical method statements, shop drawings, material deliveries, inspection requests, test packs, cable schedules, and site documentation as required.
- Assist in resolving technical queries, RFIs, design clarifications, coordination clashes, and site issues related to electrical works.
- Maintain accurate daily site records, including progress updates, manpower reports, inspection status, site observations, constraints, and issue logs.
- Support the preparation of progress reports, site updates, punch lists, NCR follow-up, testing records, and closeout documentation.
- Coordinate electrical works with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, ICT/ELV, controls, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure proper interface management.
- Support pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, energization, handover, snagging, and closeout activities for electrical systems.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and timely issue resolution across site activities.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in electrical supervision, electrical installation supervision, site engineering, construction supervision, inspection, or electrical construction management within large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong experience supervising and inspecting electrical installation works on active construction sites.
- Solid understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, inspection requirements, quality standards, and site execution practices.
- Experience supervising electrical systems such as MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, cabling, cable containment, grounding, lighting, small power, panels, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, coordination drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings, inspection requests, test reports, cable schedules, and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, QA/QC teams, HSE teams, commissioning teams, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ability to monitor progress, identify installation delays or site constraints, and support corrective actions.
- Strong awareness of site quality control, inspection processes, testing requirements, NCR follow-up, punch list management, and handover requirements.
- Good understanding of electrical safety practices and the ability to reinforce safe working conditions on site.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage daily site priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on data center, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale commercial building projects.
- Previous experience working in Dubai, the UAE, or the wider GCC region.
- Experience working in a PMC, consultant, owner’s representative, or client-side supervision environment.
- Familiarity with UAE authority requirements, local construction regulations, and international electrical standards.
- Knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure, including critical power systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, grounding, LOTO, testing, energization, and commissioning requirements.
- Familiarity with document control and project management platforms such as Aconex, Procore, Oracle Primavera Cloud, BIM 360, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for reviewing site progress and look-ahead schedules.
- Additional training or certifications in electrical safety, construction safety, QA/QC, electrical inspection, or site supervision are preferred.
