We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Electrical QA Engineer to support electrical quality assurance activities for a large-scale data center project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, quality inspections, documentation control, and coordination with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting QA/QC activities for electrical systems on large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects, with a strong focus on power distribution, low voltage, and medium voltage systems, grounding, lighting, containment, testing, and commissioning readiness.
You will play a key role in ensuring that electrical works are delivered in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, project quality requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the implementation of the project quality management system for electrical works.
- Review approved electrical drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans, material submittals, and project quality requirements.
- Conduct site inspections for electrical systems, including MV/LV power distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, cable trays, containment, cabling, grounding, lighting, small power, and related installations.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with approved quality procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Review and verify inspection requests, material approvals, test reports, installation checklists, cable test records, grounding test records, and quality documentation.
- Identify electrical quality issues, installation deficiencies, defects, and non-conforming work and support the issuance and closeout of NCRs.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, electrical engineers, vendors, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support material receiving inspections for electrical equipment and components to verify compliance with approved submittals and project requirements.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closeout of quality observations and non-conformances.
- Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover readiness by ensuring electrical works are properly inspected, documented, and accepted.
- Participate in quality meetings, site inspections, progress reviews, and technical coordination sessions.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, punch lists, NCR trackers, test records, and closeout documentation.
- Assist in preparing regular QA reports, dashboards, and quality summaries for project leadership and client review.
- Promote a strong quality culture across electrical site activities by reinforcing standards, accountability, and timely issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of QA/QC, electrical engineering, electrical inspection, or construction quality experience within large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience working on data center, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale building projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, grounding, containment, cabling, lighting, and small power systems.
- Experience reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, test reports, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, installation practices, testing procedures, and quality requirements.
- Ability to identify installation defects, non-conforming works, coordination issues, and quality risks, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Strong coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, client representatives, electrical teams, vendors, and commissioning
teams. - Excellent communication and reporting skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQI/IRCA, ASQ, NFPA 70E, or other relevant quality/electrical certifications.
- Experience working in a PMC, owner’s representative, or client-side project management environment.
- Previous experience working in KSA or the wider GCC region.
- Familiarity with Aconex, Procore, BIM 360, Oracle Primavera Cloud, or other document control and quality management platforms.
- Knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure, critical power systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, testing procedures, LOTO requirements, and commissioning support.
