About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Technical Lead to provide technical leadership across a complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem. This is a senior engineering role focused on solution architecture, technical governance, engineering excellence, and mentoring a high-performing development team.
You will serve as the technical authority across Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE), Field Service (FS), Power Platform, integrations, and custom applications, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices. While remaining hands-on for the most complex technical challenges, your primary focus will be driving architecture, engineering standards, code quality, and technical capability across the team.

Ideal Profile
Experience
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Dynamics 365 and Power Platform development, including experience in a Technical Lead or Solution Architect capacity.
- Strong hands-on expertise across:
- Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE)
- Dynamics 365 Field Service (FS)
- Power Platform
- Dataverse
- Microsoft integrations
- Expert-level C#, .NET, Dataverse plug-in development, and JavaScript for model-driven applications.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams through code reviews, mentoring, and technical governance.
- Strong background designing enterprise-grade solution and integration architectures.
- Experience establishing and maintaining Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), source control strategies, deployment pipelines, and release management practices.
- Experience translating functional requirements into scalable technical solutions within Agile delivery environments.
- Experience with Power Apps Component Framework (PCF) and TypeScript is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central architecture and AL development principles is desirable, although direct AL development is not required.
- Experience within industrial services, field services, trades, or similar industries is advantageous.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-600, PL-400, MB-240, or equivalent are highly regarded.

- Strong solution architecture and technical design capabilities.
- Proven ability to establish and enforce engineering standards and development best practices.
- Excellent understanding of build-versus-configure decision making.
- Deep knowledge of source control, CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and release governance.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills with the ability to uplift technical capability across development teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation practices and attention to detail.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities while identifying and communicating technical risks.
Responsibilities
Solution & Technical Architecture
- Own the technical and solution architecture across the Dynamics 365 ecosystem.
- Design scalable, maintainable solutions across Dynamics 365 CE, Field Service, Power Platform, integrations, and custom applications.
- Translate functional designs into robust technical solutions.
- Define architecture for Business Central development while providing technical oversight rather than direct AL development.
- Design enterprise integration architectures and establish strategies for conflict resolution and system resilience.
- Identify technical risks, constraints, and technical debt while providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Technical Leadership & Engineering Standards
- Act as the technical authority across the development team.
- Lead code reviews and ensure engineering quality across multiple technology platforms.
- Define, document, and enforce coding standards, documentation standards, source control practices, and deployment processes.
- Review solutions for maintainability, scalability, security, and architectural alignment.
- Provide technical supervision and guidance to both offshore and onshore developers.
Hands-on Development
- Deliver the most technically complex and architecturally significant development work.
- Develop reference implementations that establish engineering patterns and best practices.
- Promote configuration-first approaches where appropriate to maximise platform capabilities.
- Support technical decision-making for complex development initiatives.
Engineering Practice & Application Lifecycle Management
- Own and continuously improve Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) practices.
- Establish solution management strategies, version control standards, and deployment pipelines.
- Drive release governance, testing standards, deployment safety, and rollback planning.
- Validate release readiness before production deployments.
Mentoring & Capability Development
- Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews, and collaborative engineering practices.
- Support the ongoing growth of technical capability across the development team.
- Identify capability gaps and implement practical development plans.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with functional consultants to assess technical feasibility and solution design.
- Coordinate technical delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Produce clear technical documentation and architectural decision records.
- Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, prioritization, and delivery activities.
