What you’ll work on
Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:
Set the news agenda on distressed debt investing, restructurings and bankruptcies
Deliver and edit proprietary news, trend stories and enterprise stories. Editing duties include reviewing the sourcing, attribution, evaluating stakeholder responses and undertaking other legal checks
Manage a team of reporters and support their professional development
Work closely with credit and legal analysts on analytical pieces
Coordinate and collaborate with other teams on subjects such as private credit, leveraged finance, structured finance
Work with the 9fin engineering & business team to develop new product features and improve publishing processes
About You
If you are a financial journalist with editing and management experience, with the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:
A strong knowledge of distressed debt investing, corporate restructuring and bankruptcy cases
Solid news judgment and ability to prioritize news coverage
Proven editing skills with the ability to turn around copy quickly and concisely, while maintaining a high attention to detail
Good understanding of Media Law
Excellent networking and relationship building skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills conveying messages accurately and concisely
Team player, but also able to work effectively alone (help is always at hand if you need though!)
