About this Director, Planning Value Stream role at HelloFresh
Overview
As a Director on the Global Value Stream team, you will lead the design, harmonization, and continuous improvement of planning processes and capabilities across HelloFresh's global supply chain. Your initial focus will be Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). Scope may evolve over time as the team matures and business priorities shift. This role demands strong working expertise across the planning value stream, strategic command of how planning processes and systems interact across markets, and the credibility to drive alignment among senior operational, commercial, and technology leaders.
You will...
- Own the 'to-be' global process architecture and multi-year capability roadmap for Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and S&OP, ensuring the full forecast-to-supply pipeline is harmonized, scalable, and aligned to long-term business growth across all international markets.
- Lead alignment among senior operational leaders across regions and functions, building the consensus and governance structures required for adoption of global planning standards at scale.
- Partner with senior Product and Engineering leadership to shape the planning technology strategy, prioritizing roadmap investments that deliver durable global capability and reflect a Global-First design philosophy.
- Establish and govern the operating model for planning exceptions and deviation control, defining where global standards must hold and where market-specific adaptation is permitted.
- Serve as the process and requirements architect for Lighthouse Projects within the planning value stream, shaping the design and acceptance criteria for new harmonized blueprints and supporting their pilot and validation before multi-market deployment.
- Set the methodology and standards for cross-market maturity assessments, directing diagnostic work and translating systemic capability gaps into structured improvement programs with measurable business impact.
- Define the plan quality and S&OP performance framework (e.g., forecast accuracy, plan adherence, S&OP effectiveness), partnering with Finance and Analytics to set benchmarks and quantify the business value of planning standardization and harmonization at scale.
- Convene and orchestrate cross-functional stakeholders across regional Planning, Operations, Commercial, Product, and Technology, building the operating relationships and forums that keep planning priorities aligned to the global value stream mission.
- Set the global S&OP operating model, including cadence, decision rights, escalation paths, and the integration logic that connects demand, supply, network, production, and labour planning into a coherent monthly cycle.
- Shape the team's contribution to company strategy and department OKRs, contributing to multi-year planning and capability investment decisions across the function.
- Mentor Associate Directors on the team and contribute to the development of senior planning talent across the function.
You have...
- 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, including significant time in demand planning, supply planning, and/or S&OP leadership within multi-site or multi-country operations.
- Strong working expertise across demand planning, supply planning, and S&OP, with the depth to engage credibly on methodology and the breadth to integrate across the full planning pipeline.
- Track record of designing and implementing S&OP processes at scale, ideally in fast-moving consumer goods, food, or other high-velocity supply chain environments.
- Experience leading or significantly shaping the implementation of Advanced Planning Systems - including requirements definition, vendor evaluation, and business-side program leadership.
- Demonstrated success driving cross-functional alignment and senior stakeholder influence across regional, functional, and executive boundaries - without relying on direct authority.
- Strong analytical foundation with the ability to move fluidly between strategic framing and quantitative depth.
- Experience with lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement frameworks applied to planning processes.
- A history of mentoring and developing senior planning talent.
You are...
- A strategic thinker who can architect a multi-year capability vision and translate it into tractable, sequenced execution.
- Technically credible across the planning value stream - able to engage substantively with specialists, challenge assumptions, and translate methodological detail into clear strategic direction.
- A natural influencer who builds trust and alignment across functions, regions, and levels - from frontline planners to executive sponsors.
- Decisive in ambiguity, with the judgment to know when to standardize, when to flex, and when to escalate.
- An outstanding communicator who moves fluidly between executive narrative and operational detail.
- Motivated by building durable, scalable systems and elevating the capability of those around them.
- Highly organized with the executional discipline to drive complex, multi-stakeholder programs to completion.
