About the Role

The Director of Training & Development is the strategic leader responsible for building, scaling, and continuously improving OPF’s learning ecosystem, with a primary focus on Sales and Collections — the core of OPF’s operations. This role owns the full training cycle for these functions, from new hire onboarding and sales methodology to collections techniques and ongoing performance coaching, ensuring every rep on the floor has the skills and mindset to perform at the highest level and drive revenue.

The ideal candidate is a passionate, data-driven leader with a strong Sales background who understands the floor from the inside out. They thrive in a high-energy, results-oriented environment and have a proven track record of designing training programs that directly move the needle on conversion rates, collection performance, and rep ramp time.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own OPF’s global Training & Development strategy, aligning learning initiatives with business objectives, headcount growth, and OPF’s core values and culture.
  • Design, develop, and continuously refine comprehensive training programs for new hires, sales teams, operations, and administrative departments across DR and US operations.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Collections Managers to run new hire classes and ongoing skill-building sessions, ensuring reps are fully ramped and hitting performance benchmarks within expected timeframes.
  • Stay current with product changes, script updates, compliance requirements, and business initiatives by partnering closely with Operations Directors, ensuring all training content is accurate, relevant, and immediately actionable on the floor.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable the Training & Development team, including the Training Manager and Sales Trainers, setting clear performance expectations and delivery standards.
  • Produce regular training reports (daily, weekly, monthly) tracking progress, class completions, performance outcomes, and identified challenges or bottlenecks.
  • Serve as the primary T&D liaison to HR, Recruitment, and Operations — coordinating onboarding schedules, communicating class readiness with at least 7 days’ notice, and ensuring cross-departmental alignment.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic organizational initiatives, recommending and delivering learning solutions that support business growth and reinforce OPF’s results-driven culture.

Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in training or learning & development, with a minimum of 3 years in a director-level or senior leadership role. Prior hands-on experience in Sales or Collections is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering training programs in sales-driven or collections environments; experience working directly as a sales rep, team lead, or sales manager is a significant advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team of trainers, driving accountability, creativity, and consistent delivery standards.
  • Strong data fluency: ability to use performance metrics, training dashboards, and reporting tools to measure program effectiveness and guide decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to present and facilitate at all organizational levels.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, and stakeholder priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred

  • Direct experience in a sales or collections role (individual contributor or management) within financial services, fintech, or a BPO/contact center environment.
  • Background in instructional design, curriculum development, or adult learning theory.
  • Familiarity with performance management systems, CRM tools, and data analytics platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
