Resource Environmental Solutions LLC · Houston, Texas, United States; Raleigh, North Carolina, United States

At RES, we’re looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you’ll find your place here.

RES is seeking a Director, Mitigation Bank Development to lead and support the successful development and delivery of mitigation bank projects across an assigned territory. This position can sit anywhere in the South East, including Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina.

In this role, you will serve as a portfolio-level leader for complex, multi-year projects, partnering closely with Project Managers, General Managers, Client Solutions, Operations, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams. You will help guide projects from early feasibility and development strategy through planning, execution, financial oversight, reporting, and delivery.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role for someone who enjoys building structure, coaching project teams, solving complex delivery challenges, and connecting market opportunity with strong project execution. The role draws directly from the responsibilities and competencies in the uploaded job draft, including portfolio project leadership, financial oversight, PM coaching, bank development strategy, and cross-functional coordination.

Why You’d Love This Job

You will love this job if you enjoy leading complex projects that require both strategic thinking and disciplined execution.

This role gives you the opportunity to influence the full lifecycle of mitigation bank development, from evaluating new opportunities and supporting feasibility work to helping PMs build strong project plans and deliver projects successfully. You will play a key role in strengthening project management practices across your territory, creating consistency, improving tools, and helping teams make better decisions around scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources.

You will also have the chance to coach and mentor Project Managers, helping them grow their capabilities while supporting projects that create meaningful ecological outcomes.

What Your Day-to-Day Might Look Like

As Director, Bank Development, you will serve as a portfolio-level leader for complex, multi-year mitigation bank projects across your assigned territory. You will partner with sales teams and opportunity Project Managers to support technical proposals, assess project feasibility, and define budgets, schedules, staffing plans, resource needs, and key milestones. You will help PMs build strong project models and management plans, including work breakdown structures, communication plans, scope management plans, quality plans, risk management plans, procurement plans, reporting requirements, contracts, and sales assumptions.

In the course of the project lifecycle, you will meet regularly with PMs to review project status, manage critical issues, reinforce reporting expectations, and provide guidance on change control. You will coordinate closely with FP&A, General Managers, Client Solutions Managers, Operations Managers, PMs, and other support functions to keep projects moving and drive successful implementation. You will also help lead bank development strategy work, including market evaluation, opportunity conversion, bookings strategy, and project delivery optimization.

A significant part of your role will involve reviewing project financial performance, including budgets, percent complete, revenue, margin, cash, forecasts, and budget adjustments. You will evaluate projects through regulatory, technical, financial, and operational lenses to support sound go/no-go decisions. You will also introduce new practices, tools, training, and programs that strengthen PM capability, promote consistent project management discipline across the territory, and support PMs as a mentor, coach, and internal partner.

We’d Love to Talk to You If You Have Many of the Following

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in applied sciences, engineering, construction, environmental restoration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in an applied-sciences, engineering, construction, restoration, mitigation banking, or related project environment.

  • Experience leading complex projects from conception through completion.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, coaching, or providing oversight to Project Managers or multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Ability to evaluate projects based on regulatory, technical, financial, and operational requirements.
  • Experience estimating project work and evaluating subcontractor bids.
  • Familiarity with project management software, project tracking systems, proposal development, or structured reporting tools.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Experience with mitigation banking, ecological restoration, environmental consulting, construction, or other long-cycle development projects.
  • Strong financial fluency, including the ability to connect project decisions to revenue, margin, cash flow, forecasts, and budget performance.
  • Experience developing bank development strategies using market data, demand assumptions, pricing, customer insights, and delivery constraints.

You Will Thrive in This Position If You

  • Lead through influence and build trust across cross-functional teams.
  • Enjoy coaching, mentoring, and developing Project Managers.
  • Communicate clearly with technical, financial, operational, and executive audiences.
