WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Under the guidance of the the Director of Data and Reporting, the Data Analyst is responsible for the generation, quality assurance, and distribution of internal and external reports in support of grants management, program evaluation, and organizational learning. This role works closely with the Director of Data and Research and the Public Funding and Institutional Giving teams to ensure accurate, timely, and funder-compliant data reporting. The Analyst plays a key role in maintaining data quality within the organization's client data management system and contributes to dashboard development and data collection processes that reflect the needs of youth-serving programs.
This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits.
Your responsibilities:
Grant & Funder Reporting
- Generate monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports for Public Funding and Institutional Giving departments in support of grants management and invoicing.
- Coordinate the timely and accurate submission of data into external funder database systems, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Attend regular funder-hosted meetings and maintain consistent communication cadence with the Public Funding team (bi-weekly) and Institutional Giving (monthly).
- Respond to additional data requests from across the agency in a timely manner Internal Reporting & Dashboards.
- Produce and distribute recurring internal reports for program and performance management, outcomes measurement, and quality assurance purposes.
- Support the build-out and ongoing maintenance of program-facing dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
- Manage access to and organization of reports within the client data management systems.
- Conduct ongoing quality assurance and quality control activities across and between internal and external databases, flagging and resolving discrepancies.
- Support revisions to the client data management system as required by evolving programmatic or reporting needs.
Data Analysis
- Write and maintain code in R, or other statistical software to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes.
- Perform quantitative review of data collection forms, assessments, and other instruments for completeness and accuracy.
- Support data cleaning and preparation for use in program evaluation and research activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new features and functionalities in relevant software platforms.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports Director of Data and Research in implementing system revisions as required by evolving programmatic or reporting needs.
- Support the team's mixed-methods research efforts, assisting with deliverables such as white papers and policy briefs and with analyses spanning a range of methods (e.g., spatial panel regression, social network analysis, cost-benefit analysis).
- As needed, help advance the organization's Learning Agenda (internal evaluation, monitoring, and goal-setting) and Equity Agenda (analyzing underserved populations and incorporating those learnings into actionable programmatic steps).
- Other duties as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Your proficiency in R is required, including data wrangling, transformation, and reporting packages (tidyverse, ggplot2, R Markdown or Quarto)/Python proficiency also acceptable.
- You have experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms
- You have worked with large-scale cloud-based data repositories and enterprise data management systems.
- You have a knack for cleaning, validating, and preparing datasets for reporting and analysis with high attention to accuracy, including resolving data quality issues across multiple systems.
- You are an analytical and collaborative problem solver. Your colleagues describe you as detail oriented, self-starter, and an excellent communicator.
- You work best in a hybrid working environment. This role will work 2-3 days per week in the San Francisco Office.
