As Gong's first leadership hire in Berlin, you will take full ownership of driving net new and existing revenue growth across the DACH region specifically within our Commercial and Mid-Market segments. Building, leading, coaching and developing a team of Account Executives will be a key priority as well as owning the DACH strategy, establishing the operating standard for the market, elevating the team performance, owning the revenue number, and reporting to the Head of International CRU or Area Vice President, EMEA Corporate Revenue Unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently deliver against the DACH revenue number, quarterly and annually, translating org strategy into a DACH specific execution plan.
- Build and maintain a healthy, self sourced pipeline across the team, with consistent territory penetration and a disciplined focus on top of funnel volume, win rate, and deal size.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of Commercial and Mid-Market AEs in Berlin, setting the bar for what great looks like in the DACH market.
- Coach AEs across every dimension of the sales process, including AI fluency, prospecting, discovery quality, multi threading, competitive positioning, and closing motion.
- Co-create and maintain individual development plans for every AE on a quarterly basis.
- Run a structured operating rhythm (weekly pipeline inspection, deal reviews, forecast submissions, and territory reviews) and report regularly on team and individual results.
- Hold a clear, consistent, and early performance management standard, and clear the way for the team's success by understanding the challenges they face.
- Lead the DACH partner motion and drive expansion beyond the tech native buyer base into adjacent industries such as manufacturing, professional services, and consulting.
- Be the Gong voice in the DACH market, and work cross functionally with Solutions Engineering, Partner, Marketing, and Customer Success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Several years of experience leading high-performing sales teams, with full ownership of a regional or national revenue target across both SMB and Mid-Market segments.
- Track record of building and scaling a sales team in the DACH market, not just inheriting one, with established relationships across the local SI, reseller, and technology partner ecosystem.
- Resourceful leader who is comfortable establishing processes, tooling, and team standards in a market that is still being built, without relying on an existing playbook.
- Data-led manager who uses pipeline insights, activity metrics, and win/loss patterns to coach effectively.
- Stays current on the AI landscape and can confidently discuss its impact with CROs and Heads of Revenue Operations.
- Track record of developing Account Executives into managers or senior individual contributors, ideally within a high-growth SaaS environment where the operating model, product, and ICP are evolving simultaneously.
- Experience selling into non-tech DACH industries (e.g. manufacturing, logistics, and professional services), with exposure to revenue intelligence or sales acceleration technology as a seller, customer, or competitor, and an established personal brand within the DACH B2B sales community.
