About this Real Estate Photographer role at Backbone (BKBN)
Become part of Backbone (BKBN) on its unique journey to transform an entire industry and redefine the future of visual content production. We have offices in Geneva, Berlin and Prague and work with brands all across Europe. With our tools, we simplify the production and creation of professional visuals.
We are Backbone: https://bkbn.com – the leading provider of real-estate marketing solutions, driving innovation within the industry. Our vision: to make real-estate transactions faster, more transparent and more user-friendly.
For our team in French-speaking Switzerland, we are looking for a dedicated, talented and reliable Photographer who embodies our quality standards and is eager to actively shape the visual future of the real-estate world. We are looking for someone based in the Fribourg – Bulle – Yverdon-les-Bains – Lausanne area.
Your Role
As an In-house Photographer, your focus will mostly be on our premium, high-end productions — prestige properties that call for a real sense of architecture, refined composition and cinematic videography, together with ground and drone photography and virtual tours. This is the most demanding and rewarding part of our craft, and it's where you'll spend most of your time. As demand fluctuates, you'll also handle more standard shoots — so versatility and a reliable, all-round photographic skill set matter.
You'll work on-site in close coordination with our operations teams, and you'll be supported throughout by a structured training and certification program led by our prestige-photography expert.
Your Responsibilities
- Be the face and representative of Backbone towards our clients on-site.
- Photograph real estate – exterior & interior – with a strong sense for light, space, volume and detail, putting the architecture first.
- Capture cinematic video sequences and conduct drone shoots (photo and video).
- Produce Matterport 3D virtual tours.
- Deliver clean, well-exposed, correctly white-balanced RAW files (post-production is handled by our dedicated team).
- Handle high-end prestige productions as your primary focus, and standard shoots as demand requires.
- Be our eyes and ears on the ground with our customers, and an important source of feedback and further development, as well as a key factor in Backbone’s success.
- Enjoy being on the move – most of your work takes place on-site with clients.
Requirements
What You Bring
- An understanding of architecture and a genuine interest in image-making and photography — you know what makes a space worth showing, and how to frame it.
- The technical basics of photography and videography, both on the ground and by drone.
- An independent, reliable and well-structured working style, with attention to detail.
- A valid driver's license (must-have). You enjoy driving to various shooting locations on a daily basis.
- Fluency in French is required, together with a good command of English. German is a strong plus.
- Openness to new tools, trends and technologies – you enjoy experimenting and learn quickly.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting out in photography, or for a career change — for example after training or first experience as a building draftsman (dessinateur en bâtiment) or in architecture/design. If you understand architecture and have the right fundamentals, we'll help you develop the rest through our training and certification program. A drone (BAZL) certification is a plus; if you don't have one yet, we'll support you in obtaining it.

What We Offer
