SmartPlay Early Learners Riverstone (SP) is Christian Family environment aimed at providing high quality care and education in a Long Day Care setting. The services provide a 3 - 4 year old Pre Kindy Program and 4 - 5 Year Accredited Kindergarten Program.

We demonstrate this commitment through embedding of the Child Safe Standards in culture, policies, procedures and practice. About the role

If you are looking to join a vibrant and professional early learning team and are passionate about children with a love of healthy food and have some experience in catering, then SmartPlay has an exciting opportunity for you.

You will assist in planning a menu, purchasing and receiving goods, cooking meals in alignment with our Food Safety Program and Nutrition Australia. You will also work closely with the management team to be aware of dietary and medical requirements of children at the ELC, ensuring that meals are prepared in alignment with our Food Handling and Nutrition Policy.

Additional responsibilities may be allocated to the right person including planning, preparing, and attending special events held by the service and weekly cooking sessions with the children. 

This permanent part-time, Monday to Friday position commences as soon as possible.

Minimum hourly rate $31.50 (subject to qualifications and experience).

Requirements

About you

  • The Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desirable and encouraged but not necessary upon employment.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • You’ll be committed to upholding the ethos, culture and policies of SmartPlay Early Learners.
  • You’ll provide a child safe environment by committing to the Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct.
  • Completion of Foundations of Child Safety Training required.
  • You take initiative and leadership appropriate to your role and qualification.
  • You have a positive attitude and growth mindset.
  • You have a servant heart and vibrant Christian faith. 
  • Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or experience in cooking in an Early Learning Setting.
