About this Commercial Contracts Manager role at HealthHero
We’re looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager who will take ownership of contracting across HealthHero’s B2B portfolio, from the day-to-day handling of agreements with corporate clients, insurers, partners and suppliers through to the process, tooling and framework that sit around them. This is a hands-on role combining real contract work (reviewing, marking up and redlining agreements, handling first-line legal queries and partnering with the commercial teams on live deals) with the operational ownership of running contracting end to end, from intake through to signature, renewal and ongoing administration.
This is an exciting opportunity to build the contracting engine of a fast-growing business from the ground up: developing the templates, playbooks, repository and CLM tooling that make our contracting faster, more consistent and lower-risk, and scalable as the business grows.
About the Role
- Be the first-line support for contract and commercial-legal queries from across the business (including review, mark-up and redline of a wide range of B2B commercial agreements), progressing standard positions and known terms independently, routing data protection matters to the DPO, and escalating high-risk or complex points to external counsel or management as required.
- Partnering with the commercial teams throughout the deal cycle, helping Sales understand contractual positions, working terms through with customers and suppliers, and balancing commercial pace with sensible risk management to get deals signed.
- Developing, owning and maintaining the library of approved contract templates, standard clauses and playbooks, and over time take ownership of HealthHero’s contracting policies, positions and risk framework, working with the Finance Director and external counsel to define what is standard, what can be agreed, and what must be escalated.
- Owning, building and continuously improving the contract lifecycle management (CLM) process and tooling end to end: selecting, implementing and optimising CLM and contract-administration tools, structuring and maintaining the contract repository, and ensuring version control, approval workflows, e-signature, renewal tracking and reporting are robust, automated and auditable.
- Overseeing contract execution, amendments, renewals and terminations, ensuring accurate documentation and a single source of truth for live agreements.
- Ensuring contracting activity follows defined governance and approval frameworks, and contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes, controls and systems.
- Supporting, and over time, taking greater ownership of, supplier and vendor management, including supplier onboarding and due diligence, maintaining supplier terms and records, tracking renewals and obligations, and acting as a coordination point for day-to-day supplier relationship administration.
Essential Criteria
- Strong experience managing commercial contracts in a B2B environment, including hands-on reviewing, marking up and redlining agreements and handling first-line contractual and commercial-legal queries independently.
- Hands-on experience working with CLM or contract-administration tooling and the processes, templates and repositories around it, with a clear sense of what a well-run contracting operation looks like. Implementation of a system a plus
- Solid working knowledge of English contract law and common commercial terms (liability, indemnities, SLAs, IP, data protection, termination), sufficient to review and redline agreements confidently, advise the business on standard positions, and judge what can be progressed versus what needs external counsel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk-assessment skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-coordination skills, comfortable chasing, prioritising and keeping multiple parties aligned and moving.
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership as a first legal and contracting hire, confident building process, policy and frameworks from the ground up.
Desirable
- A legal qualification or part-qualification (for example a law degree, GDL, paralegal qualification, or progress towards the SQE) would be an advantage, though this is not a qualified-solicitor role.
- Experience in a regulated sector such as healthcare, insurance or financial services, and familiarity with data protection and NHS or public-sector contracting.
- Experience of supplier or vendor management, and a working interest in legal-tech and AI-assisted contracting tools.
