Role Overview 

As a Content Transformation Editor, you will help turn validated source material - primarily video courses, transcripts, speaker decks and expert assets - into clear, structured, reader-ready products that read naturally, teach clearly and meet Packt standards. You will use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate transformation, but you will be responsible for checking, refining and improving the output so it is accurate to the source, up to date, readable, coherent and valuable for tech professionals.  

Success in this role means delivering reliable, well-structured V2B (Video-to-Book) and derived-content outputs on time, identifying issues early and applying feedback quickly.

What You Will Do 

V2B and Derived Content Transformation 

  • Review source assets such as course videos, transcripts, speaker decks and code repositories. 
  • Help shape structure, flow and learning paths based on the source course. 
  • Use Packt’s AI tools to convert courses into clear written manuscripts, checking for content quality, flow and repetition while preserving useful expert insight, practical examples and teaching intent. 
  • Ensure chapters contain appropriate introductions, transitions, summaries, captions, instructions, examples and reader guidance. 
  • Review AI-assembled on-demand video courses for editorial quality, flow and completeness, checking AI-flagged moments and approving the final output for publication. 
  • Review and approve ingested expert material to ensure it is converted into clear, attributable and retrievable insight units that improve the quality of AI-generated answers in our corpus product. 

Editorial Quality and Reader Value 

  • Check and improve grammar, clarity, readability, consistency and flow. 
  • Make sure the output reads like a book, not a transcript. 
  • Check that explanations follow a logical progression and support the intended learning outcome. 
  • Identify areas where source material depends too heavily on visual demonstration or assumed context, and flag where extra explanation is needed. 

AI and Workflow Tools 

  • Review AI-generated output critically and correct errors, hallucinations, omissions, unsupported claims and tone problems. 
  • Provide feedback on AI tools and documentation that can be used to improve processes and output. Document source issues or process bottlenecks so the wider workflow can improve. 
  • Escalate missing assets, unclear source material, technical uncertainty, quality concerns, schedule risks or repeated workflow issues early. 

 

Who You Are 

  • An early-career editor, graduate or content specialist with excellent English and strong learning agility. 
  • Curious about technology and motivated to understand how technical learners think, work and solve problems. 
  • Comfortable using AI tools, while being quality-focused in reviewing their output. 
  • Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage repeatable tasks without losing sight of reader value

Must-have skills: 

  • Excellent written English, with strong grammar, clarity and editing judgement. 
  • Good communication skills and ability to share clear feedback to all stakeholders, internal and external. 
  • Ability to test code and flag issues. 
  • Ability to organise information into logical structures and reader-friendly explanations. 
  • Confidence working with long documents, transcripts or source files and maintaining consistency across them. 
  • Willingness to learn new technical concepts. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow workflow, style and quality checklists. 
  • Ability to work to deadlines, communicate blockers early and respond to feedback.  

Good-to-have skills: 

  • Degree, internship or early professional experience in publishing, editing, technical writing, instructional design, journalism, education, communications or a related field. 
  • Exposure to technical topics such as AI, software development, cloud, data and cybersecurity. 
  • Experience editing transcripts, video course material, tutorials, learning content, documentation or structured educational content. 
  • Experience using AI tools for drafting, summarisation, editing, research or workflow automation.

Salary Range - INR 25K - 45K fixed pay per month (skills and/or experience dependent)
