Description:
Consultants are highly motivated individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who are interested in corporate communications. Consultants will be asked to conduct research, track new business development leads, create PowerPoint presentations, and compile media lists and press clipping reports and draft client memos. This analytical and detail-oriented individual plays a centralized role in driving client work and must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across Teneo.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research for client and new business engagements, with the ability to succinctly distill complex matters into clear and concise insights
- Partner with the media monitoring team to synthesize and communicate media affecting clients, competitors and related events
- Conduct policy research and political/legislative analysis with the ability to synthesize analysis and deliver concise insights
- Maintaining and updating materials such as account trackers, media lists, conference and award lists
- Manage day-to-day account work of producing and refining deliverables such as press releases, memos, copy for social media, etc. and ensuring deliverables hit their deadlines
- Drafting and circulating weekly agendas
- During client meetings assisting with note taking and circulating to team
- Support the client engagement process through due diligence and administration activities
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communicator, with strong writing skills
- Strong organizational skills, project-management and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Resourceful, team-oriented, enthusiastic, collaborative and entrepreneurial
- A strong work commitment, high ethical standards and ability to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to think creatively, approach communications from new angles, and handle both day-to-day account work and ad hoc client asks
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive and demanding assignments
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook) is required
- 1+ years of communications, journalism, policy, government affairs or media experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the Quebec and Canadian political landscape an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Business or relevant discipline
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English
