Responsible for generating new business through inside and outside sales techniques, maintaining existing customer relationships, and promoting lawn care services to commercial clients.  

 

  Education

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred. 

 

  Experience:  

  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience required; minimum 2 year of that green industry experience preferred 

  Skills:  

  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers. 
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.   
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient with agronomic terminology and a strong ability to explain to customers effectively. 
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes 
  • Basic knowledge of CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and data management tools. 
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to meet or exceed sales targets. 
  • Strong turf and agronomic knowledge and product knowledge 
  • Proficient in managing communications through phone systems, email, and chat platforms.  
  • Proficient using technology including mobile devices. 

 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Identify and target prospective customers through various channels, including customer visits, referrals, networking, and marketing leads. 
  • Identify and pursue high-value opportunities within new and existing markets. 
  • Conduct in-person consultations with clients to assess their lawn care needs and recommend suitable chemical treatment plans. 
  • Present and sell lawn care services and packages to residential and commercial clients via face-to-face, written communication, and telephone.  
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive repeat business and referrals. 
  • Follow up on leads and ensure a seamless onboarding process for new customers. 
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and service needs promptly and professionally. 
  • Plan daily routes and appointments to maximize efficiency and coverage. 
  • Track and report sales activities, customer interactions, and progress toward goals. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s lawn care products and services, including chemical applications and seasonal treatments. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and best practices. 
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure timely service delivery and customer satisfaction. 
  • Provide feedback to the marketing team to improve lead generation and promotional campaigns. 
  • Write and manage contracts for all commercial customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, division leads, and customer support, to ensure a seamless customer experience. 
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions. 
  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
