Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to manage and support our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a solid understanding of cloud operations, monitoring, incident management, automation, and infrastructure reliability. Exposure to Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is an added advantage.
The role requires participation in a 24x7 rotational shift model to support critical production environments and ensure high availability of cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure hosted primarily on AWS.
- Perform day-to-day cloud operations, including provisioning, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Monitor cloud resources, respond to incidents, and ensure adherence to defined SLAs.
- Support production deployments, infrastructure changes, and operational activities.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, storage, compute, and security-related issues.
- Implement operational best practices for high availability, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, security, and platform teams to resolve production issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Participate in a 24x7 rotational shift schedule and provide on-call support when required.
Required Skills :
- 3–5 years of experience in Cloud Operations, Infrastructure Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as:
- EC2
- VPC
- IAM
- S3
- RDS
- CloudWatch
- Route 53
- ELB/ALB
- Auto Scaling
- EBS
- AWS Backup
- Good understanding of Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
- Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, VPN, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and Security Groups.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) is an advantage.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools is desirable.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of Cloud FinOps, including cloud cost optimization, resource utilization, budgeting, tagging strategies, and cost governance.
- AWS certification (Associate level or above) is an added advantage.
- Experience with container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes is desirable.
