About this Client Sales Trader – Liquidity Distribution role at IMC
CLIENT SALES & DISTRIBUTION AT IMC:
IMC is expanding the way it distributes its liquidity to clients, and we are looking for a Client Sales Trader to own commercial relationships and grow the client franchise. This is a commercially driven, trading-adjacent role for someone who understands market structure and liquidity provision, and who can translate IMC’s edge into compelling value for institutional accounts, banks, agency brokers, and wealth and retail platforms.
You will build and prioritize the sales pipeline, develop greenfield and cross-product opportunities, and partner closely with monetization and trading teams to analyze client flow and optimize how different client segments interact with our liquidity. You will work hand in hand with our onboarding and connectivity team, who own the technical integration once a client is signed.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of IMC’s trading approach, liquidity offering, and market-structure edge, and communicate that value proposition to institutional accounts, retail and wealth platforms, banks, and agency brokers.
- Identify and develop new client opportunities across products and regions, building a scalable sales pipeline prioritized by strategic value.
- Own day-to-day commercial relationships with key clients and distribution partners.
- Analyze client flows to understand execution quality, and work with monetization and trading/operations teams to optimize interaction with different client segments.
- Define KPIs and benchmarks for sales initiatives, and identify the feedback or blockers that would warrant a change in approach.
Your Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in electronic trading, liquidity provision, or institutional client coverage; a trader or trading-adjacent background with client-facing experience is preferred, and principal-liquidity experience is valued over pure agency algo sales.
- Deep electronic trading knowledge, including the order lifecycle (fills, rejects, cancels, IOC handling) and familiarity with clearing workflows.
- A strong technical thinker who can reason through market-structure changes and their impact on trading behavior; comfortable with Python for conducting liquidity analysis.
- A solid understanding of client flow quality, adverse selection, spread capture, and monetization.
- Strong commercial instincts paired with the credibility to engage sophisticated trading and quant counterparts at clients.
- A strong communicator who can bridge Development, Infrastructure, Compliance, Business Development, Onboarding, and clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The Base Salary range for the role is included below. Base salary is only one component of total compensation; all full-time, permanent positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits, including paid leave and insurance.
