Installation Made Easy (“IME”) provides software and process management that enable retailers and contractors to offer installed home improvements to homeowners in a convenient, consistent, and affordable manner. IME senior management has over 100 years of retail management and home improvement industry experience.

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a key executive leader responsible for defining and executing the company’s overall technology vision, strategy, and roadmap. This role will oversee all aspects of software development, infrastructure, data, security, and technology innovation, ensuring alignment with IME’s business goals and long term growth strategy.

The CTO will work closely with executive leadership, including the CEO, CFO, Department VP’s, and business leaders, to drive scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions. This leader will guide the evolution of IME’s platform, modernize systems where needed, and foster a high-performing, remote-first engineering culture.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on technology leader with a proven track record of scaling platforms, leading distributed teams, and aligning technology investments with business outcomes.

Essential Functions:

  • Define and execute the company’s long-term technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth plans
  • Provide executive leadership over software development, architecture, infrastructure, and data initiatives
  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of engineering leaders, developers, and third-party partners
  • Establish and enforce best practices for software development, system architecture, security, and scalability
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic initiatives into technology solutions and roadmaps
  • Oversee system modernization efforts, including cloud strategy, platform optimization, and technical debt reduction
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all technology systems and applications
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage
  • Develop and manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation
  • Drive data strategy, analytics capabilities, and business intelligence alignment across the organization
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure technology performance and business impact
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within a remote environment
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, regulatory, and cybersecurity standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Finance, and Business Development
  • Support partnership initiatives from a technical due diligence perspective, as applicable
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in software development and technology leadership
  • 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including senior leaders
  • Proven experience in SaaS, enterprise platforms, or multi-tenant systems
  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack (.NET, SQL Server, Azure)
  • Advanced knowledge of Classic ASP
  • Experience with C# .Net on MVC Framework with Entity Framework
  • Strong background in modern software architecture (e.g., cloud-native, microservices, APIs)
  • Prior executive leadership experience (C-level or VP-level)
  • Familiarity with legacy system modernization (e.g., Classic ASP to modern frameworks)
  • Experience scaling technology platforms and teams in high-growth environments
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience managing remote and globally distributed teams
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology with revenue and operational goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in retail, home improvement, marketplace platforms, or partner ecosystems

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

IME currently supports home improvement programs for a number of leading national retailers, covering a wide array of products including flooring, countertops, HVAC, kitchen and bath remodeling, windows, siding, roofing, water heaters, and water treatment.
