We invite experienced and passionate Chef de Parties to join our prestigious team at Sudima Auckland Airport. The perfect candidate will utilize their culinary creativity and skills to exceed the expectations of our guests.
Our esteemed kitchen team at Sudima Auckland Airport offers an array of dining options including room service, à la carte and buffet breakfast choices, as well as à la carte lunch and dinner at our Visaya restaurant, in addition to extensive conferencing and event services. We are on the lookout for someone with the ability to master a variety of cuisines. You will play a key role in the preparation and presentation of top-notch dishes while assisting with food cost management. We seek an individual who is truly passionate about their culinary career and enjoys working within a collaborative team environment.
Full Time permanent role (minimum of 30 hours per week on a rotational roster) is based at Sudima Auckland Airport and the pay rate will be $30.28 per hour.
Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis
- Organizing the shift, placing orders, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift
- Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members
- Offer flexibility with dietary needs and ensure excellent food hygiene and safety standard are adhered to
- Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers
- Planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Preparing and cooking food
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- May select and train staff
- May freeze and preserve foods
Requirements

We seek team members with a great attitude, in addition to that the following skills will see you succeed in this role.
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed below. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
- NZQF Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- Experience in a busy kitchen environment
- Planning and organising skills and an ability to work individually and in a team
- Ability to multi-task, show flexibility and meet deadlines, work under pressure
- Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights, and public holidays
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks, excellent time management abilities
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered for the role.
