Role Overview
This Business Analyst role sits at the intersection of project coordination and property data intelligence within the Business Intelligence Center (BIC). This position will support project tracking and cross-functional coordination while maintaining spatial databases, GIS systems, and property research outputs, contributing directly to data-driven decision-making for property and mall operations, leasing, and location strategy.
Key Responsibilities
A. Project & PMO Support
- Project Tracking: Assist in tracking the execution of strategic projects across BIC and key business units, ensuring alignment with team priorities.
- Project Planning: Support project planning activities including milestone tracking, risk logging, and status reporting under the guidance of senior managers.
- Follow-Up & Accountability: Proactively follow up with internal teams (Analysts, BI Developers, Data Scientists) and cross-functional departments (Property, Mall, Leasing, Operations, Finance, Marketing) to help ensure timely delivery.
- Meeting Support: Help coordinate and prepare materials for cross-functional meetings, including pre-reads, meeting notes, and action item tracking.
- Presentation Development: Assist in developing clear and structured presentations and dashboards for management review.
- Ad-Hoc Support: Support urgent and ad-hoc requests from senior team members as required.
B. GIS, Data & Property Research
- GIS System Management: Develop and maintain the ArcGIS system and spatial datasets to support the property research team's analytical needs.
- Database Management: Manage and update geo-coded databases including MyLotus member data, Population, CP Axtra store locations, strategic location datasets, and competitor store locations; cross-check with third-party data sources such as Nielsen.
- Sales Data Maintenance: Update and maintain store performance data (daily, weekly, and monthly sales) and store analogue information.
- PR Database: Update and maintain the Property Research (PR) database on the BIC server.
- Competitor Analysis: Perform monthly competitor impact measurement and division breakdowns.
- Location Reporting: Update and maintain monthly Google Earth files for store and competitor locations and submit reports to management.
- Data Extraction: Extract and provide market share, population, and consuming class data within various catchment areas and radius distances to support property research teams.
- Cross-Team Support: Fulfill data support requests from other teams as required.
- Data Governance: Maintain strict confidentiality standards and ensure full compliance with customer data protection policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Geographic Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, data management, GIS analysis, or a related area.
- Experience in retail, FMCG, or fast-paced corporate environments is preferred.
- Exposure to spatial data, database management, or business intelligence functions is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Power BI development skills is a plus
- Proficiency in ArcGIS or other GIS platforms; Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, or Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Trello, or Asana.
- Understanding of KPIs, dashboard development, and business intelligence concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills; comfortable working across teams and stakeholders at various levels.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic written and oral English communication skills.
- High sense of responsibility and professional integrity, particularly around data confidentiality.
