Why join us?
We’re a global tech company, just not the kind you’re picturing.
Sure, we’ve got catered lunches, team events, cool merch, and yes... dogs in the office. But that’s not why people join.
Our team of nearly a thousand people wakes up every day to make our product and our customers’ lives better. At SafetyCulture, you’ll hear “yes, let’s give it a shot” more often than “that’s not how we do things here.”
People join because we’re building tools that make work better for the 3 billion people who keep the world moving - factory floor operators, baggage handlers, truck drivers, servers, store assistants. The ones who make things happen. We’ve got the scale and innovation you’d expect from big tech. The difference? No endless layers of sign-off. No corporate theatre. Just smart, experienced people solving real problems fast .
The scale is big. But the ownership’s personal. Every full-time team member gets equity - real skin in the game. When we grow, you do too. We’re not perfect, no company is. But this next chapter of our growth is about scaling with intelligence, not just size - fueled by operational maturity, a clear vision, and a strong focus on AI.
This is big tech impact, without the big tech ick. If that excites you more than it scares you, you’ll fit right in.
Role purpose:
SafetyCulture recently implemented Zuora as its enterprise order-to-revenue platform (includes CPQ, Billing and Revenue Recognition). This role exists to own and evolve that platform from the inside, while directing a Senior Billing System Analyst, to ensure our order-to-cash process runs accurately, efficiently, and at scale. As the main internal expert across Zuora Billing, Revenue Recognition (RevRec), and CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) configuration, this person is the engine behind our billing operations. They work cross-functionally with Revenue Operations (RevOps), Finance, Sales, and Engineering to keep the platform healthy, continuously improving how the system is used, removing inefficiencies and reducing the administration burden for Sales Reps.
Key responsibilities:
Own end-to-end administration and configuration of Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue Recognition, including product catalogue, rate plans, charge models, subscription lifecycle, invoicing, workflows, and payment processing, ensuring accuracy and reliability at all times
Act as the primary internal subject matter expert for the Zuora platform, triaging issues, diagnosing root causes, and implementing sustainable fixes without reliance on external implementation support
Continuously identify and drive process improvements across the order-to-cash lifecycle; surface inefficiencies, propose solutions, and deliver changes that improve billing accuracy, reduce manual effort, and scale with business growth
Translate complex business requirements from Finance, RevOps, and Sales into Zuora configurations and solution designs; be the bridge between business needs and technical implementation
Manage and maintain integrations between Zuora and connected systems, including Salesforce CRM, payment gateways, and downstream financial or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, in partnership with Engineering, ensuring data integrity and reliability
Work with RevOps to ensure Zuora CPQ configuration into Zuora Billing is optimised and has tight alignment between what Sales quotes and what Finance bills; serve as the Zuora-side expert while RevOps owns the Salesforce quoting experience
Partner with RevOps and Sales to identify and deliver Zuora CPQ workflow improvements that reduce quoting friction and improve the efficiency of the sales process
Own accuracy of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) reporting and Revenue out of Zuora, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and can be relied on for Finance decision-making
Provide assurance and support on revenue and billing data, partnering with the Data team, RevOps, and other Finance stakeholders to validate figures and resolve discrepancies
Proactively surface billing insights and metrics to Finance and RevOps, proposing areas for improvement and optimisation across billing and revenue reporting processes
Build and maintain clear technical documentation covering system configurations, integrations, workflows, and billing processes, ensuring the platform is well understood, auditable, and transferable
For clarity, this role does not:
Own the Salesforce CRM platform, that sits with RevOps
Own the sales quoting experience or usability design within Salesforce, that is a RevOps responsibility
Required Skills and Experience
Technical skills:
Deep, hands-on expertise in configuring and administering Zuora Billing, including product catalogue setup, rate plans, charge models, subscription management, invoice settlement, workflows, data loader, data queries and payment gateway management
Proven ability to configure and administer Zuora Revenue Recognition (RevRec), with working knowledge of revenue recognition standards under AASB 15 / ASC 606
Strong hands-on experience working with Zuora CPQ, including pricing logic, quoting workflows, and subscription amendment processes
Deep understanding of the end-to-end quote-to-cash (Q2C) process in a subscription-based Software as a Service (SaaS) business
Experience managing and troubleshooting Zuora integrations with Salesforce CRM and downstream ERP or financial systems
Strong project management skills, keeping stakeholders accountable to deliver work on time and at a high degree of quality
Able to translate complex business requirements into functional system configurations and scalable solution designs; thinks in systems, not just tasks
Strong data skills, able to interrogate and validate data across integrated systems to diagnose billing issues and verify accuracy
Zuora Billing certification highly regarded
Behavioural skills:
Comfortable operating as the main internal expert on a complex, enterprise-grade platform, takes full ownership, moves decisively, and doesn't wait to be directed
Strong cross-functional communicator who can fluently bridge technical and non-technical conversations across Finance, RevOps, Sales, and Engineering, influencing stakeholders without formal authority
Solution-oriented by default, shows up to conversations with options and recommendations, not just problem statements
Thrives in ambiguity and can inherit a recently implemented system, make it their own, and drive improvements without an existing playbook to follow
Holds high standards for accuracy and data integrity, understands that billing errors have direct financial and customer impact
Driven to improve, proactively identifies inefficiencies and moves to resolve them rather than working around them
Able to work well with cross-functional stakeholders in high-pressure situations
AI skills:
Actively uses AI tools (such as Claude or Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate documentation, root cause analysis, drafting functional specifications, and researching Zuora platform capabilities and updates
Able to evaluate AI-generated solution options for billing configurations and validate them against business logic and system constraints
Uses AI as a continuous learning and research tool to stay ahead of platform changes and billing industry best practices
Can demonstrate how AI tools, MCPs and native AI capability within Zuora can be used to shift how work is currently executed
