The Finance Systems Analyst sits within the Finance Systems team and supports the ongoing operation, maintenance, and enhancement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O).

This role acts as a key link between Finance users and the core systems team, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently, processes are supported, and system performance remains stable. The role requires a solid working knowledge of D365 F&O, with the opportunity to develop deeper functional expertise over time.

Requirements

What You'll Do:

Operational Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide day-to-day support for finance processes within D365 F&O, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, project accounting, invoicing, and timesheets.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues, escalating more complex problems where appropriate.
  • Support the resolution of workflow issues, posting errors, and data inconsistencies.
  • Ensure timely handling of queries to minimise disruption to business operations.

System Configuration & Maintenance

  • Support configuration changes within D365 F&O under direction (e.g. setup updates and minor enhancements).
  • Assist with the deployment of system fixes, patches, and updates.
  • Maintain system data integrity and support user access and role reviews.

Business Process Support

  • Work closely with Finance and Project Operations teams to support core finance processes.
  • Help ensure processes such as billing, timesheets, and month-end close run smoothly and consistently.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements.

Testing & Change Support

  • Participate in system testing, including user acceptance testing and regression testing.
  • Support change deployments by validating expected outcomes.
  • Document test scenarios, results, and issues identified.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with Finance, IT, and external support teams to resolve system issues.
  • Provide clear and timely updates on incidents and system changes.
  • Support communication of system updates to end users.

Documentation & Controls

  • Maintain clear documentation for processes, system configurations, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure all activities align with audit and internal control requirements.
  • Support standardisation and governance of finance system processes.

Who You Are:

Essential

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Understanding of core finance processes (e.g. Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, project accounting).
  • Experience supporting business systems or ERP environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable

  • Experience with D365 configuration or functional support.
  • Exposure to system testing and release management.
  • Understanding of finance controls and audit requirements.
  • Experience in a global or multi-entity environment.
  • D365 Knowledge: Intermediate – able to resolve issues and support configuration, but not responsible for solution design.
  • Autonomy: Works independently on most support tasks; escalates complex issues appropriately.
  • Ownership: Owns assigned tickets and process areas, but not end-to-end system strategy or roadmap.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Confident working with Finance users; limited exposure to senior leadership.
  • Problem Solving: Handles standard and moderately complex issues effectively.
