The Associate Director, Human Resources Generalist – Europe (Contract) serves as a strategic HR leader responsible for partnering with business and functional leaders across Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. This contract role supports Corcept’s efforts to build high-performing teams, strengthen organizational capability, and establish scalable people practices across Europe.
The position combines HR business partnership with hands-on operational HR support. The successful candidate will navigate complex European employment environments and partner closely with the Corporate Business Partner and HR Operations to support organization scales thoughtfully, compliantly, and in alignment with company values.
This contract role requires strong experience operating in matrixed, international organizations and the ability to balance speed, growth, compliance, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness within a highly regulated and evolving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR Generalist for employees across multiple European countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and the UK, providing operational HR support and ensuring consistent execution of HR programs and processes across the region
- Support all employment stages, including onboarding, promotions, leaves of absence, and offboarding
- Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with local legal requirements and company policies
- Support employees on day-to-day employee relations matters, including policy interpretation, workplace concerns, and separations, partnering with the Legal and Corporate HR Business Partner to ensure consistent and compliant resolution of employee matters
- Provide guidance on European employment compliance requirements, including consultation obligations, Works Council interactions, employee representative processes, and local employment regulations
- Build and strengthen scalable, compliant HR processes and policies
- Partner with HR Operations, HRBPs, Compensation, Benefits, Legal and Payroll teams to ensure coordinated delivery of HR programs and employee support
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition and global recruiting partners to execute full cycle recruiting processes
- Utilize data, organizational insights, and business trends to inform recommendations, process enhancements and decisions
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:
- Strong working knowledge of European employment practices, labor relations principles, and local compliance considerations
- German language working proficiency
- Proven ability to influence leaders, navigate ambiguity, and operate effectively in fast-paced, matrixed environments
- Strong policy generation, employee relations, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with global employees and HR Centers of Excellence
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HR Business Operations or HR Generalist experience within multinational organizations
- Demonstrated experience supporting multiple European countries, preferably including Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom
- Experience implementing and supporting HR programs, policies, and processes in a fast-paced, multi-country environment
- Background in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare technology, medical device, or other highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with Works Councils, consultation processes, or employee representative bodies
