Birdman Studio is our in-house creative unit, where craft, taste, and brand identity come to life across every touchpoint of our portfolio of brands.
We are looking for an Art Director to own all of the company's static content and its brand portfolio — packaging, print, point of sale, visual identity, and design systems.
This is a hands-on leadership role and the guardian of taste, production quality, and visual identity across every brand. While the Content Production Lead owns content in motion, the Art Director owns everything static, turning briefings into high-craft deliverables that land consistently across every communication touchpoint.
The Art Director will lead a team of 3 designers, elevating their work to the standard of a benchmark creative agency, and will collaborate closely with Brand Management, Consumer & Market Insights, Brand Experience, Performance & Ecommerce, and Social & Community teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the creation of all static content for the company and its brands (packaging, print, point of sale, digital stills), turning briefings into high-craft deliverables.
- Act as the guardian of taste, craft, and production quality of everything static the company puts out into the world.
- Own and safeguard the brand manuals, brand books, and corporate identity of the company and its brands.
- Lead the design team and manage priorities and workloads against briefings, deadlines, and business priorities.
- Manage relationships with external static-production partners (print houses, packaging, labeling): selection, briefing, and supervision through final production.
- Govern the portfolio of static assets and design systems across all brands and business lines.
- Lead, develop, and coach the team of 3 designers to the standard of a benchmark creative agency.
- Translate stakeholder briefings into single-minded design solutions with creative excellence and consumer resonance.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree — open field; ideally Creativity, Production, Communications, Film, or Design.
- 5+ years of agency experience, specifically at creative agencies, working as an Art Director.
- Hands-on experience in packaging design and packaging production (must-have).
- Proven experience leading and developing design teams.
- Advanced English (full oral and written comprehension); native Spanish.
- Portfolio required (packaging and visual identity work).
- Eligible to work in Mexico. Able to work on-site in Guadalajara and available to travel ~30%.
Nice to have
- Design work produced outside of Mexico.
- Experience with sport / lifestyle brands.
- Experience with culturally relevant brands.
Technical Skills
- Art direction & design: graphic design, typography, layout, visual identity systems, brand books, final art.
- Packaging & print: packaging design, printing processes, materials and finishes, color management, prepress, vendor supervision.
- Tools & operations: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, production workflows, asset management, AI-assisted design tools.
- Print production management, project management, and adaptation of static design into digital formats.
