About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Role Overview

Demand for our services has grown steadily, and we're expanding our team.

We’re looking for a senior Technical Lead (Architecture Focus) – Full Stack to join a customer-facing delivery team supporting a major global customer in Auckland. This is a hands-on software architecture and leadership role focused on modernising a mixed .NET/Angular estate, shaping architecture patterns for Azure-hosted applications, and lifting engineering standards across the team.

You’ll work closely with engineers, solution architects, product stakeholders, and customer leadership to define a pragmatic path from legacy to modern. While a significant part of the role involves application architecture and technical direction, this is fundamentally a full-stack leadership role where you will work side-by-side with engineers and stay close to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve application architecture across a mixed .NET estate, from legacy .NET Framework 4 through to modern .NET)
  • Set the modernisation roadmap, ensuring new work follows clean, sustainable patterns while legacy components are uplifted incrementally.
  • Lead full-stack technical direction across backend, frontend and integration boundaries.
  • Shape SPA/API integration patterns, ensuring frontend squads have well-designed, stable and versioned contracts to build against.
  • Facilitate workshops with engineering squads, product owners, and customer stakeholders, and provide technical guidance through sprint reviews and release gates.
  • Be the technical voice in customer-facing conversations — able to explain design decisions clearly and confidently to non-technical stakeholders.

In your first 6-12 months, you will:

  • Help define a pragmatic modernisation roadmap across the .NET estate
  • Improve adherence to software development best practices, including API consistency, versioning, and integration governance
  • Lift engineering standards across architecture, development, and CI/CD practices
  • Help reduce priority technical debt without slowing delivery
  • Become a trusted technical adviser to both the team and the customer

Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

Must-have:

  • Deep, hands-on experience with modern .NET and legacy .NET Framework in a commercial environment
  • Strong full-stack experience (Angular emphasis), with the ability to work effectively across backend, frontend and integration concerns.
  • Good knowledge of a mainstream SPA framework (preferably Angular). You do not need to be a frontend specialist but must be able to work effectively with Angular squads, review component architecture, understand data-binding patterns, and shape robust SPA/API integration patterns.
  • Proven technical leadership across engineering teams, including mentoring, decision-making and setting delivery standards.
  • Azure-based experience, including App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Service Bus, and related PaaS tooling.
  • Solid grounding in web application security and secure API design.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to communicate with executives and other non-technical stakeholders.

Good to have, but not required:

  • Knowledge of Zero-Trust security, DevSecOps and FinOps.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect.
  • iSAQB Certified Professional for Software Architecture
