About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Public Accountant to join our accounting team in Guadalajara.
This is a hands-on accounting position where you will be involved in the complete accounting cycle, supporting month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, identifies issues before they become problems, communicates proactively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates with experience in a public accounting firm (despacho contable) are highly valued, as they typically develop strong accounting fundamentals and exposure to multiple areas of accounting.
What You'll Do
- Perform full-cycle accounting activities.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review accruals.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with different departments to resolve accounting issues.
- Identify missing information, potential risks, or accounting issues early and communicate them proactively.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Accounting (Licenciatura en Contaduría Pública).
- Professional License (Cédula Profesional).
- Experience in General Accounting / Full-Cycle Accounting.
- Experience with:
- Journal Entries
- Accruals
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Month-End Close
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Availability to work full-time on-site in our offices in Col Providencia, Guadalajara.
- Flexibility to work beyond regular business hours when required to meet month-end close deadlines and business priorities.
