About this Actuarial Associate role at Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company
Job Summary
The Actuarial Associate is responsible for executing model change management processes in compliance with established governance policies and procedures. This position gathers and interprets business requirements to develop and integrate enhancements to Corporate GGY AXIS models supporting valuation, ALM, pricing, and planning purposes. This position requires programming activities across all six product lines – FIA, RILA, PRT, Payout Annuity, Traditional Life and Universal Life.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and facilitate model change requirement-gathering meetings, and update related documentations in a timely manner
- Collaborate with various teams to understand the model change requirements and identify key stakeholders
- Develop model changes accurately using efficient programming techniques and adherence to Best Practices
- Update all associated model documentation (e.g. MSD, ASD, simplification) to accurately reflect assigned model changes
- Create detailed Technical documentation for model changes
- Review and validate results against requirements throughout the development process, and provide ongoing support for follow-up questions
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have formal people leadership responsibilities but may provide guidance, mentorship, or subject matter expertise to others.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including analytical and reasoning skills; with the ability to apply actuarial principles to complex situations
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to learn and utilize actuarial software systems
- Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 1+ year of relevant experience
- 1+ years of relevant industry experience
- At least four actuarial exams passed, with an interest in pursuing FSA
- Strong modeling/programming background
- Knowledge of and experience with GGY AXIS or other actuarial modeling software preferred

- This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring long periods of sitting, regular use of a computer, and occasional standing or walking, with reasonable accommodations available.

Ability to travel up to: 10% of the time
