Our client is a U.S.-based company looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support its finance team with accurate data entry, transaction processing, and administrative accounting tasks. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys repetitive, process-driven work. The majority of your time will be spent entering financial information, processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the accounting team with day-to-day administrative tasks. You'll collaborate with U.S. team members in English and communicate with Mexican stakeholders in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Enter Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions accurately into the accounting system
  • Process invoices, vendor bills, customer payments, and credit memos
  • Assist with invoice matching and supporting documentation
  • Maintain organized electronic accounting records and filing systems
  • Update spreadsheets and reconcile transaction listings with supporting documents
  • Assist with basic bank and account reconciliations by preparing supporting information
  • Review transactions for completeness and flag missing or inconsistent information
  • Support month-end activities by preparing schedules and gathering required documentation
  • Communicate with U.S. team members in English and Mexican stakeholders in Spanish regarding routine accounting matters
  • Follow established accounting procedures and maintain accuracy while working within the client's remote desktop environment
  • Perform other administrative and data entry tasks to support the finance team

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience as accounting assistant, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or accounting data entry role
  • Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish
  • Experience entering accounting transactions with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, formulas, and data organization)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work accurately with large volumes of data
  • Experience supporting a U.S.-based accounting or finance team

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or another accounting/ERP system
  • Experience working through remote desktop software
  • Dual-monitor home office setup
  • Previous experience working as a long-term remote contractor
