OBJECTIVE

Responsible for overall management of the area, staff, merchandise, and customer service.  The Area Manager is also responsible for achieving the sales objectives of the responsible area, maintaining and achieving high operational and merchandizing standards and goals, building highly motivated teams, and developing associates to the next level.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Generation

  • Plan and develop overall sales and marketing strategy and execute sales plan to deliver company’s objectives
  • Explore Regional markets by identifying new business opportunities and sales channels with effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets, business growth and increase brand visibility
  • Meet sales goals for responsible stores
  • Analyze available sales reports and data to determine the needs of the business and set business strategies
  • Setting goals for store managers, ensuring goals reflect store business goals
  • Support the development associates’ sales techniques, ensuring utilization of elevated levels of sales and service to maximize sales
  • Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor
  • Collaborate with Supervisor and Marketing to identify marketing opportunities to support sales
  • Develop events/incentives that will continue to grow the customer base, with particular emphasis on building the local market
  • Develop sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sales, product launch, and profitability of products, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends
  • Prepare related reports, P & L analysis, set up commission scheme to achieve sales goal
  • Provide regular market analysis and reports, including regional market capacity, demand changes, industry dynamics, competition, and customer feedback

Customer Service

  • Ensure all responsible stores provide the highest level of customer service
  • Resolve all client problems and complaints quickly and effectively
  • Manage all special events inclusive of collection previews, client events, sale events, etc.
  • Empower store managers to make decisions in the customer’s best interest that also support the company’s philosophy

 

Operations

  • Search for appropriate locations for new retail shops or sales channels in Australia
  • Ensure facility maintenance, presentation, and organization
  • Ensure deliveries are properly processed in a timely manner
  • Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements
  • Support, promote, and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, and inter-store communication.
  • Build and maintain good communication with members of the corporate office and other stores

 

Merchandising/Visual

  • Implement and maintain all merchandising directives and ensure execution of effective merchandising strategies between all stores
  • Partner with logistics, merchandise teams, and supervisors to ensure appropriate assortment for the store.
  • Ensure all responsible store selling floors are neat, clean, and organized and reflect the correct visual image at all times
  • Ensure the presentation of all displays, fixtures, and visual areas is reflective of the current visual direction.
  • Identify and communicate product concerns in a timely manner
  • Communicate inventory needs to support the business goal

 

Human Resources

  • Recruit, train, and develop staff ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified personnel
  • Support, implement, and provide follow-up for all training programs, seminars, etc.
  • Continually evaluate the performance of each associate and provide constant feedback to ensure results
  • Resolve all human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, partnering with HR when necessary
  • Ensuring the integrity of payroll and the payroll process
  • Ensure image and grooming standards are professional, reflective of the brand image and adhered to at all times

SKILLS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of retail experience with 3 years in a senior retail management role.
  • Good problem-solving, decision-making, planning and organizing, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and awareness of market trends; knowledge of various retail sales and media channels in the regional market
  • Must be self-motivated, have high multi-tasking capacity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Possess a can-do attitude with strong initiative, able to work under pressure and meet the deadlines
  • Good MS Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook) skills
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English
  • Frequent travel is required
