Commercial Construction Project Coordinator

Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Construction Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of commercial, institutional, and design-build construction projects. This position works closely with project managers, subcontractors, field personnel, and office teams to coordinate project documentation, scheduling, estimating, quality control, and project execution from start to finish.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience supporting commercial construction projects who is ready to take on greater project management responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, quality records, safety documentation, financial tracking, and project closeout information.
Monitor project progress and identify potential issues that could impact schedules or budgets.
Coordinate the review and processing of shop drawings, submittals, and other construction documents.
Assist with change management by tracking changes, collecting pricing, preparing estimates, and processing change orders.
Perform quantity takeoffs using digitizers, paper plans, and 3D modeling software to support estimating activities.
Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software.
Support field layout activities by reviewing drawings, coordinating dimensions, preparing control line drawings, and assisting with CADD-related tasks.
Assist with contract administration, including subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
Prepare project reports using construction management platforms such as Project Center, USACE QCS/RMS, Prolog, and other project workflow software.
Work with project teams to resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum.
Help ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable legal standards.
Coordinate with internal departments including Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Services.
Support project closeout activities to ensure timely completion of documentation and deliverables.
Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering efforts to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
Attend project meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Travel to project sites within the assigned region as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 2–3 years of experience working for a commercial or industrial general contractor, or
At least 5 years of directly related construction experience in place of a degree.
Experience managing or supporting both subcontracted work and self-performed construction activities.
Knowledge of construction methods and practices related to commercial, institutional, and renovation projects, including associated site work.
Experience with estimating, scheduling, project tracking, and construction documentation.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and common construction management software.
Basic working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical construction disciplines.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to effectively work with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
Willingness to travel to multiple job sites within the designated service area.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs multiple times throughout the workday.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record for occasional material pickups and travel between project locations.
Preferred Certifications
The following certifications are preferred. A grace period of up to six months may be available for qualified candidates to obtain them if not currently held.

- First Aid
- CPR
- USACE/NAVFAC CQC Certification
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Associate Constructor (AC) credential
What You'll Bring
